Things to do in Oklahoma this week!

FREE 2011 Plaza District Festival in OKC’s Plaza District (1700 Block NW 16) features live music, artist booths, kids’ art activities & a variety of local concessions. Saturday, October 1,12-10pm (kids area open 12-6pm). plazadistrict.org.

FREE Oklahoma Regatta Festival & Head of the Oklahoma Regatta on the Oklahoma River is a four day celebration of rowing, kayaking & dragon boating with lots of family fun. Includes a family festival featuring live music, art, a children’s area, food & more. Thursday-Sunday, see website for schedule. 552-4040, oklahomariverevents.org.

FREE Oklahoma Czech Festival in Yukon is one of Oklahoma’s largest ethnic festivals with a carnival, parade, craft booths, music, dancing, singing & food. Saturday, 8am-5pm. 206-8142.

FREE Woofstock at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History includes free admission, outdoor demonstrations for visitors & their dogs, dog-themed crafts, story times, auditorium shows & more. Sunday, 1-5pm. 325-4712, snomnh.ou.edu.

FREE 4th Annual SchlegelFest at Schlegel Bicycles (900 N Broadway) includes bounce house, pumpkin decorating, face painting, bike obstacle course & bike safety lessons for kids. FREE Pumpkin Palooza

The Annual Fall Family Fun Night and Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt has been renamed Pumpkin Palooza and it is going to be better than ever! The festivities begin with Pumpkin Chukin, where we encourage you to build a catapult/trebuchet. Then follows with the pumpkin carving contest, fun fall crafts, spending time in the inflatable, face painting, listening to music, and we will end with the Pumpkin Hunt at 7:30 p.m. Families will need to bring a flashlight to search the grounds behind the MAC for hidden mini pumpkins.

 

Edmond Ice Rink

Nov. 25 – Jan. 1, 2012

With holiday lights reflecting off the ice matching the twinkle in the eyes of joyful skaters, join us in creation new holiday memories at the Edmond Holiday Ice Rink. The rink will open Friday, November 25, 2011 and close for the season at the end of day on Sunday, January 1, 2012. North Pole Holiday Adventure
