The holidays can be a stress full time. Having a house full of company means last minute cleaning and organizing. I thought I would share some tips with you on how to prep your home for the Holidays as well as some my products that can help you do just that.
The Big Clean:
Getting the whole family involved is the key. Before friends and family arrive I hand each kid their own carton of Clorox wipes and direct them in the general direction of their bathrooms (yes my kids clean their own bathrooms). Daniel is responsible for doing the laundry (Grab a .75/1 coupon for All Oxy Booster), people tend to want to take a tour of the house so make sure you pick up dirty socks that may have crawled under the couch to hide lol. One of my favorite tools is the Rubbermaid reveal Mop because I can refill it with my own cleaning solutions such as Pinesol. No more expensive refills and the cloths are washable. Don’t forget to clean that microwave. There is nothing more embarrassing then having guests trying to help you warm things up and seeing a not so fun surprise.
Pre- Prep Your Food:
If your having a potato dish you can peel your potatoes the day before which will save you quite a bit of time. You can also pre cut your veggies. Desserts are another easy dish that you can prepare they day before. My favorite is pecan and pumpkin pie. Clean your refrigerator several days ahead of time to make room for holiday goodies.
Clean up after Dinner:
Just spent all that time cleaning your house and preparing your food and your to exhausted to do the dishes. there is nothing wrong with using paper plates and napkins. Matter of fact that is what my grandmother is doing this year. Using products like Vanity Fair Napkins & Dixie Ultra Paper Plates will help you spend less time cleaning up and more time visiting your family. You will want to make sure you have plenty of Glad trash bags on handy as well.
