We're going to get cell phones for the kids when school starts, as they will both be taking the city bus into Boulder, to attend school this year and I'll feel better about that if I know that they can call me, if they need to. So, I'm looking for a family plan for the 3 of us, as my husband already has one through work.

might check to see if you have cricket in your area, they usually have a bunch of umlimited stuff included in their monthly fees, not sure how old your kids are but mine use text messages more than anything..i used to have them on 300 texts per month...till i got hit with an additional 90 dollars in text fees..so now they are on unlimited texting and they have no excuse to go over their phone minutes.

Try US Cellular also, they usually have pretty good deals.

I have a cricket phone and it is great for us but they don't offer a family plan, it still could be cheaper though cause I think their lowest monthly plan is like $25 and each additional line they subtract $5 off of that it. So two phones would be like $45 a month. When you start you only have to buy the phones, they are like $30 up to $129 and they give you your first month of service free. I haven't had any problems and we really like it. Check for roaming though cause they arn't in a whole lot of areas yet and that could make it very expensive.

We went with Verizon. Husband gets a discount through work, somehow, so we didn't have any activation fees, the (3) phones were free and we have to pay $82 + taxes a month for 700 min, unlimited texts etc. Not bad.

I got my 12 year old a tmobile kid connect. She has 100 minutes a month and can talk unlimited to other tmobile customers without using her 100 whenever minutes! It cost $19.99 plus tax a month and the good thing is that if she uses ALL the 100 minutes in a month then she cant call anyone except other tmobile phones and 911....so no large phone bills for going over minutes. And if she doesnt use all of the 100 minutes then they roll over to the next month. Hope that makes sense and HTH

We just signed up with T-mobile because we could get on a plan where our home phone was only $9.95 a month with a $39.00 cell phone plan. (1000 anytime minutes). T-mobile has free phones you can order on their website, however, we bought a blackberry pearl for only $54.00! Don't go to one of the T-mobile stores, buy online and use a coupon code. It saved us $100.00!

Just found out that Sam's also sells T-Mobile, Sprint, & At&t phones. If it's time to renew your service agreement, you can get blackberrys for less than $25!

does anyone know where to get deals on us celluar phones? i can get one this month if i renew my contract but i am getting ready to move to texas and they are not there (go fiqure) so i want a new phone (mine is a piece of crap) but do not want to renew my contract and do not want to pay huge fees. thanks
