Grandmother would put some water in a small bowl and then she would add 1 drop of dish soap to it. Mosquitoes are attracted to the water and the dish soap will drown them. She would put 4 bowls around the grape arbor when we would eat diner outside.. Never had a bug bit us.

use to remove left over candle wax from votive holders:
fill votive with warm water, add a drop or two of dish detergent and let sit for about five minutes. Candle wax will pop right out with a little encouragement from a spoon or butter knife.

use the good grease fighting kind as a stain remover for laundry....great for chef's coats or aprons that get grease spots.
