1 Box Cake Mix, 1 Cup Greek Yogurt and 1 Cup Water! That’s all! No added fats or oils! See it to believe it!

I recently acquired 5 cases of yougurt (that’s 60 individual cups) No, this wasn’t extreme dairy couponing! I just started doing a co-op with a group of friends and you never know what you are going to get…like enough yogurt to fill a fridge!! I decided to get creative with it. I love making yogurt pancakes and smoothies, but why stop at breakfast?! I keep hearing you can substitute Greek Yogurt for all sorts of things. I decided to give it a try! I used 1 box cake mix, 1 cup of Greek Yogurt (2 individual serving cups) and 1 cup of water. You cook it just like the directions on the box say to. My yogurt is all strawberry so I decided to stick with a strawberry cake mix. To be honest, I wasn’t sure this was going to work. I had my doubts.

But it did work! The cake was great, and so much healthier too! The only difference was it didn’t rise as much, it wasn’t as fluffy as it normally would be. But it was still very good. I would recommend using a chocolate cake mix and plain Greek Yogurt, that way it would be more like brownies.

My recap: It’s not exactly the same, but it’s a healthier option and still tastes great. I will DEFINITELY do it again!

1 Boxed Cake Mix

1 Cup Greek Yogurt

1 Cup Water

Cook as the box directs.

    I have been doing this for years. Devil’s food cake is hands-down the best tasting choice for this particular method. IMHO, actually tastes better then the real deal!
