I went to walmart Sat 10-29-11 bought Groc. used Q. on what I could wanted to use the b1g1 on dove -sauve-Tris. wanted to match on sure Deo. from Walgreens 2/3.00.Cart not even half full. So I didn’t clear the self. After the girl rang me up on 95% and baged and carted she saw the Q. and called a floor mfg. to do all my Q. They say if more the 3 Q they have to see the item before they ring up Q . also she read everyone word per word. The lady had to hunt and find 24cans of dogfood the free candy bar for 74cents the free prog. soup I got in the mail 2 loaf bread Sara lee. fixident. That was the reason I put all the b1g1 together so no problems I was so upset they made me fell like I was stealing them. My bill was 161.00 so I didn’t get it for free and I had a 10.00 walmart pizza 2 prems.12.00 some meat so my Q was small. And 3-8.00 covergirl And they Question big time on them I had blush. She read it about 3 times. And there was a line about 6 people behind me. Also when I wrote a check they kept it. And asked to see my Id. I have shoped there since 1997 when we moved here all we have is HEB and walmart for Groc. I had never bounced a checked in 42 yrs marriage. and if I did my bank would pay and bill me the charge. So I think it has something to do with the Q. They say after the meeting this week and them not getting paid they have to verify EVERY Q> from now on. So after I got home and saw they missed 1-8.00Q and called. they say they found the 3-Q.
So I said every body has 3 Q.
I said if that is how you want it I will play your game.
I will put the item up hand you Q. put another item up hand you Q. It would be faster then hunting for the item after it is baged. They say this is going to be the new law for Q.
I had a day in WALMART______. I was so mad I could of spit nails at them. But I wont let them run me off from Q. They say they just have to many Q these days. HELLO! people are in need of a break on food. So be ready for the new rule.
I couldnot use the tide. or no go on the sure deo. or the reach floss. After all I went thru I said ok take it off.
Thanks for letting me rattle on.
My WAlmart is in SEGUIN TEXAS

I just wanted to let yu all know I loved going to My Walmart.
I would have a little problem here and there but never never had I been treated so bad in one trip. like I told the girl on the phone over the covergirl Q. If the lady had scanned the Q and it beeped the asked to see the item I could understand that. BUT have to see the item then scan it– took longer hunting for the item.
    Thank you

The Walmart here gives me drama over one Q but the saying in this town is anyone rude just apply at Walmart you fit right in! On a positive note lately I encountered some very nice and helpful emloyees there nothing remains the same and couponing is what I make it . I only hope I can become better at it.

On 12/23 I used a computer printed Q at Walmart, no problem – then on 12/24 tried to use one and they said new rule, no printed Q’s – I wasn’t in the mood to argue. I love saving $$$ with Q’s but get very put out when I know I read and follow the rules and then get questioned or told I can’t use –

I have always been an avid loyal WalMart shopper until recently…since I have started using coupons actually! They scrutinize every coupon and stop to read each one like I am trying to “get one over on them”. Some of the cashiers make you feel as if the savings is coming out of their pocket. The way I look at it…the stores know when certain coupons are coming out and put the product in their ad to bring in customers. In return, they are moving alot of products and increasing their stores sales and getting reimbursed for the manufacturers coupons plus a handleing fee. So what is the problem?? I am sick of being treated as if I am stealing the products off the shelf when I save about 15 to 25% on coupons and the rest is my hard earned money. I hate having everyone behind me looking like I am a coupon criminal because they accused me of copying a coupon because I had 2 of the same one…they actually called a manager and I had to show her the different numbers on them and tell her I would call corporate if I needed to and she finally accepted them. Talk about a humiliating experience with lines watching and hearing her telling me I copied it and it was a fradulent coupon. Uhhggg! Makes me sooo mad! Now, I have started going to Target and to my surprise they are very coupon friendly! The cashiers are nice and don’t hold up the line like WalMart. After stacking a manufacturers and a Target coupon I am saving more money than I ever did at WalMart and don’t leave the store feeling like my blood pressure is up!
Thanks for being my sounding board!

Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with Walmart! There is no excuse for a cashier to be rude or sarcastic or just plain dumb when handling customers using coupons. BUT in their defense I have to say unfortunately the scrutinizing of coupons is because people DO commit coupon fraud and it costs Walmart,Target and all stores thousands, if not millions of lost revenue because cashiers don’t pay attention and push through coupons they shouldn’t. They can also get fired if they don’t pay attention to what coupons they are taking…even if a coupon doesn’t beep doesn’t mean it’s the right coupon for what the shopper is buying. Most (not all) cashiers who over scrutinize have probably taken bad coupons and have been told if they don’t pay more attention they’re out of a job. And yes, there are some who are just plain crabby for no reason at all, who think the money is coming out of their pocket, or jealous that people are getting something for free or cheap. Just wait you find them at Target too LOL!! Walmart has just been hit with more coupon fraud that other stores (there are people out there teaching classes on how to defraud Walmart) so that’s why you see more scrutinizing of coupons there. BTW, I love Target too!

I had an experience at Walmart the last time I used a lot of coupons. I realized that the cashier had missed a couple of coupons so she called a CSM over and the CSM went over my receipt and matched the coupons and actually found some others the cashier had missed. She was very polite to me and apologized for the wait. This was the Walmart on NW Expressway & Council. I ended up getting over $10 back! Yes I was embarrased because people were waiting in line but I had not done anything wrong and just wanted the discount I was supposed to get.

I regularly use target or walgreens cents off coupons at my local walmart with no problem. Yesterday, I went to a walmart in a different city & wanted to use a target $1 off kraft cheese coupon & was told they NEVER take competitors coupons. Long story short, after a LOT of drama & being spoken to in a totally RUDE manner, I left & called corporate & was told yes walmart will take target coupons & they would like me to speak with the manager of the walmart who said no. The manager did call (very nice), said yes their store does take competitors coupons if it follows walmart policy. He made a good case in that the policy states coupon must have a specific price as in walgreens coupon for tuna @ 50 cents a can otherwise they will not take it. I like how my walmart does coupons better 🙂 So, what is walmart’s policy on competitors coupons?

  • Pilar March 16, 2012, 12:50 PM

I would have to say i do not coupon at walmart because i have never been treated correctly since i started couponing…they are rude and when you have coupons in your hands they let out this really loud remark “great just my luck”….i very nicely ask if there is a problem and they so no and start rejecting coupons…and i am very organized everything is in one day i had enough and i said thank you for your time but i will go else where for my shopping needs and have them void the order.

  • DAWN CARR March 28, 2012, 2:46 PM

i also made a Walmart trip used lots of coupons but the cashier also called over the manager together they read all the coupons and and limited me on several of them and pointed out that there was trip limits and per shopping trip limits oh brother! needless to say i ended up putting lots of things back! cashier stated that she didn’t want to put her job in jeopardy neither did i ,so Walmart seems to be cracking down on limits now

    • Queen Mum March 28, 2012, 2:53 PM

Dawn, did they have signs up about limits? I know on the P&G coupons it states only 4 of the same can be used per shopping trip but I don’t know of any policy about trip limits or how many of an item you can buy with coupons. I do know they can limit how much you buy if people are trying clear the shelves. If they showed you something in writting let me know. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Cinderfella1 June 1, 2012, 8:56 AM

I check on in the Automotive or Garden Center saves time and less drama usually they are happy to check me out…Find a different Walmart if you are having repeated troubles with employees not following policy…good luck!

  • lisa July 22, 2012, 3:31 PM

Have been reading some of the statements above….Walmart as in Most stores Do have a Limit on 4 Q per Transations of same… I have seen Nothing posted saying you Can’t do more than one transcation at a time…I do 3-4 at once when I go to Walmart and Target.. usually go to shortest lane and have never had a problem……..We all need to Follow policy on Q’s everyday getting Stricter on using Due to people using them Wrong…
