How to tell if a coupon is legit!

Ever print a coupon out and think hmm….this doesn’t look right.   You’ve got a really great coupon but you don’t know if you can use it because it might not be legit.  Well, if the coupon is put out by coupons.com (bricks or otherwise) you’ll be able to tell whether the coupon you have is fake or legit with just a few clicks of your mouse!   Visit veri-fi.com, enter the unique bar code from the upper right hand of the coupon, click on the veri-fi button and voila ,  all the info about your coupon is at your finger tips! Give it a try….I just verified the Diet Coke coupon from the Deals of the Week post for a reader tonite and it was super easy.

This unique code will also tip the store off if the coupon has been put on a scanner and multiple copies made.

I used to have a site bookmarked, and I am pretty sure this is the one:
    http://www.cents-off.com/coupon-fraud-list.php?st=84bc3
I know the CIC ran it- a couple of years ago there were a TON and I mean a ton of fakes on EBay (and all auction sites) they were coming from a fella in the Phillipines. The fakes are still on EBay- they are all higher dollar & are all for free items.
I unfortunately had bought some and was totally embarassed at a store when I found out it wasnt a good coupon.
I wish the info was easier to find…
