Discounted Food Box Ministries

Have you never really gotten the hang of couponing?  Want to supplement your couponing with some delicious food?  There are a few places from which you can order pre- selected boxes of food at discounted prices.  Here is a breakdown of two that I am aware of:

Mid-America Foods-    A Family box costs $29.50.

The August Family Box has:

4 (6oz) portions of Boneless Pork Chops, 2 1lb packages of ground beef, 1 lb Italian Sausage, 5lb of individually quick frozen boneless chicken breast, 12 oz Canadian bacon, 1.25lb of popcorn shrimp, 1lb butterball 85-15 ground turkey, 1lb strawberries and 1lb broccoli florets.

Boxes can be ordered online and paid for with Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal.

Angel Food Ministries-   Their Signature Box costs $35 (plus tax).

The August Signature Box has:

4lb Perdue tray pack chicken leg quarters, 4 6oz steak burgers, 1.5lb Perdue tray back boneless skinless chicken breast, 1lb deli sliced ham, 1lb Roger Wood sausage dogs, 2lb Mac and Beef, 1lb ground turkey, 2lb heat and eat Cheesy Broccoli Soup, 1lb 80-20 lean ground beef, 1lb spinach, 1lb carrots, 1lb green beans, 1lb triple vegetable blend, 1lb broccoli, 24 oz steak cut French fries, 1lb yellow sweet corn, 1lb sugar snap peas and 1lb California blend veggies.

They accept cash, money order, food stamps and credit or debit cards.  Credit or debit card orders can be made over the internet, but you must call the location to order if you are paying with food stamps, cash or money order.

I know there used to be another program called Share Colorado that was available; however, when I went to search for it all the websites for it are closed.  I am not sure if it is still active.  If you know of any other food ministries like these let me know so I can add them.

Any thoughts on either of these?

I have purchased from Angel Food, Share Colorado and MidAmerica foods. Share Colorado went bankrupt last year.
MidAmerica food is by far the best in quality. With Angel Food I found I got a lot lower quality.
