Frugal Tips: Saving at Restaurants

We all know that eating at home is healthier and cheaper but sometimes it’s just nice to get out of the house whether it’s at a family friendly restaurant or having a nice dinner for two. Today I want to share some money saving tips for eating out at your favorite Restaurants.

Sign Up:

Hop online and sign up for your favorite restaurants email newsletter. Many of them will send you printable coupons on a weekly or monthly bases. You will want to set up a separate email account just for online offers so that your normal inbox doesn’t get overwhelmed with promotional emails. We have a list of Restaurants on ConsumerQueen.com that you can sign up for.

You can also sign up for all those Daily Deal sites like Groupon,Living Social and more. You can find a list of them at ConsumerQueen.com. Restaurant.com has some great deals too.Savings.com is a great one to look at as well.

Get Social:

Look up your favorite restaurants on Facebook and Twitter. Many will offer coupons for their followers on Social Media.

Go Mobile:

If you have unlimited texts.Sign up for text alerts from your favorite Restaurants. Be aware though if you sign up for to many your phone will be going off all the time. I will test a few restaurants at a time to see who has the best offers and then stick with those.

There are many apps available that you can download for free that will help you save as well. Here are few that we  thought you might like.

FourSquare -  A location based app that will let you check in at your favorite restaurants and retailers. Several companies like Chili’s will offer special coupons that you can redeem right from your phone.

Shop Kick –  Another location based app that will let you check in at your favorite restaurants and retailers. It also offers special coupons that you can redeem right from your phone. I love this app because it will also tell you about other offers that are available based on what location you are in.

Made in Oklahoma – Made in Oklahoma just launched a new iPhone app that will help you learn more about Made in Oklahoma products, recipes and restaurants. This is a great way to support your local business.

Don’t Forget:

Here are a few places you might forget about scoring some great deals on your favorite restaurants.

The Phone Book – Don’t forget to check the back of your phone book for  coupons to your favorite restaurants.

Valpak – Check that little blue envelope that comes in the mail before you throw it away. Many restaurants offer coupons in there. Did you know you can also print Valpak coupons online?

The Entertainment Book –  Order the Entertainment Book online and have it mailed to your home. You can get it for as low as $35 and it’s full of coupons for local restaurants and entertainment. Check ConsumerQueen.com online on how to order.

Look for Kids Eat Free Nights. Many restaurants offer a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entree or meal.

Look for restaurants who offer early bird menu prices usually from 4 to 6pm.

If your not a big eater, order an appetizer instead of a full entree.

Seniors don’t forget to ask if they offer a Senior discount.

Just remember to think outside the box and look for coupons every where. Do you have a favorite place to find restaurant coupons? Share them with us on the blog.
