Take the Savings Pledge – Shopping my Guilty Pleasure

I love to shop, it’s in my genes LOL. I wanted to find a way to still enjoy the things that I love without feeling guilty about the money I spend. So I started looking for little changes in my life that could help me make improvements on my budget.

First of all my husband and I set goals and a household budget. You can read more about that here. Couponing was a big kicker for me. I was able to reduce my grocery bill dramatically by using coupons. Where there is a will there is a way. I worked really hard to save as much money as I could couponing so that I could have a budget for those little things in life that I would never buy myself.

Combined with my couponing hobby I researched my purchases online to find out what stores were having the best sales or which sites offered coupon codes.

The media might tag me as frugal but I would tag myself as a “Smart Shopper”. I reevaluated my lifestyle and shifted my shopping habits so that it fit my budget.

Keep an eye for more posts like these that might help you make little changes in your life. I have taken the savings pledge. How about you? Will you take the Savings Pledge with me? What changes will you be making? Share yours here on the blog.
