September is Menopause Awareness Month and being in that group of women I can readily identify with the need to address the issues that women face as they grow older and their bodies are changing.
Let’s face it, when we women reach a “certain age” we are beset with lots of shall we say, uncomfortable and aggravating problems. Hot flashes, bladder leakage, body odors and dryness can make our lives miserable. We try everything to stay cool but nothing seems to help. We dread coughing, laughing or sneezing because we’re sure to “spring a leak”. We become less of the sweet, understanding person we used to be and everyday living becomes more complicated.Poise website for expert advice about the symptoms of menopause. I gained a lot of information on why I was experiencing hot flashes and other symptoms.
Another place I found most helpful was visiting the Poise facebook page and listening to personal stories from the Fab5 on how they cope with their changing bodies. It made me feel relieved to know that what I was feeling was normal and there were other women out there that understood and had found ways to help themselves, and in turn could help me.
While I was searching for info I came across a great article and coupon in the September issue of All You….$1.00 Poise coupon at the Walmart.com Fab Five web page. I watched a short video and clicked on each one of the Fab5 women to hear their story.
This is where I learned about the Roll-on Cooling Gel (my fav) and the four other Poise Wellness products: Panty Fresheners, Personal Lubricant, Feminine Wash and Body Cooling Towelettes.
With coupons in hand, I decided to take a proactive stand and headed to Walmart to stock up on products to help me fight the symptoms I was experiencing. You can see my full shopping trip here (be sure to click on each photo to see my captions).
When I arrived at Walmart I was able to find exactly what I was looking for!
The feminine wash is pH balanced and it kept me feeling cleaner and fresher than my regular body wash.
Using the cooling towelette made me instantly cooler, especially when I used them on my neck. I liked that I could fit the pack in my purse (with the panty fresheners) and have them ready when needed.
So you see, menopause doesn’t have to be something that controls your life. Once you’ve gotten your symptoms under control, menopause can be a good thing! Look on the bright side, no more monthly cramps or worrying about whether you’ve got enough tampons. No monthly period and no worries about getting pregnant. This can be the best time of your life…your kids are grown and if you’re retired (like me) you can enjoy life to it’s fullest.
Happy Menopause ladies!
