Shopping BOGO Free Sales at Homeland

Homeland_bogo_free

Buy One, Get One (BOGO) Free sales at Homeland are a little different than most stores.

Each of the two items in the BOGO Free sale are rung up at half price instead of the first product at full price and the second one at zero.

Since both products are rung up it allows you to use a coupon on each of the 2 items!

The registers are set to ring up all BOGO free items at half the original price no matter how many of the items you purchase, so if you only want one item you can purchase it at half price. I do this when I only have one coupon to use or I just want only one item because it's a better deal. 🙂

For EXAMPLE:
Say, Homeland puts paper towels on sale BOGO free sometime and the regular price of the paper towels is $3.50 each. You put 2 packs of the paper towels in your cart and when you get to the register the cashier rings the paper towels up at $1.75 each.

You have 2 coupons for $1 off the paper towels. The cashier takes off BOTH coupons. Maybe you only had one $1.00/1 coupon for the paper towels.  You could just buy one pack and the cashier would still ring it up at $1.75 and you'd get the paper towels for  FREE after doubled coupon!

NOTE: since MOST Homeland stores only double one identical coupon per day, the best thing to do if you have a $$/1 coupon is to just buy one item to get the best deal:

Paper Towels $3.50 (reg. price) BOGO Free
*or $1.75 per pack – buy 1 pack
Use $1.00/1 paper towels
Final price: FREE with doubled coupon

Paper Towels $3.50 (reg. price) BOGO Free
*or $1.75 per pack – buy 2
Use (2) $1.00/1 paper towels – first coupon will double to $2.00 off, second coupon will just take off $1.00.
Final price: 2/.50 (25¢ each) – still a great deal but not free.

If you had say, a $1.00/2 coupon then you'd need to buy 2 items to use it:

Paper Towels $3.50 (reg. price) BOGO Free
*or $1.75 per pack – buy 2
Use $1.00/2 paper towels
Final price: 2/$1.50 (75¢ each) after doubled coupon
