Attention all Dancing with the Stars fans. I got the amazing opportunity to attend a live taping of Dancing with the Stars 10th Anniversary during my recent trip to Los Angeles, courtesy of ABC TV. This is the first time I have been on a set for a live taping of the show. I wore a black and gold chevron dress that I purchased at Ross with a pair of black heels paired with a black and white Kiskadee wristlet from One Odd Bird. Since we were only allowed to take a small purse I didn't bring my Cannon T2i, so all of the pictures were taken with my iPhone.
We sat in the balcony and had a great view of the dancers as well as the judges. The energy level in the room was really high and I don't think I have ever clapped that much in my entire life. As I watched and waited for the show to start, it reminded me of my dancing days when I took Jazz and Hip Hop as a kid and continued dancing up until my 2nd child. Oh how I miss those days.
My favorite dances of the night were Sadie and Mark as Adam and Eve and Bethany and Derek as Ricky and Lucy. I love that Sadie talked about how this dance resonated with her faith and I love the message it brought. She has stayed so true to who she is no matter what they throw at her. For Bethany and Derek I am a big fan of the Salsa and let me tell you Bethany and Derek nailed it. It was so cute. Sadly Michael and Emma ended up having to go home that night but I snapped the picture of them on the dance floor getting in one last dance with each other. They danced almost until everyone cleared the floor.
I might not have agreed with all the judges comments that night but I had an amazing time. After the show we went to dinner at Mixology 101 where we had a meet and greet with some of the cast. The highlight of my night was meeting Sadie's parents Willie and Korie. They were so sweet to take pictures and talk with us. I had a personal conversation with them that really touched me and they thanked me for their support.
Everyone in the cast was absolutely fabulous and so patient with us as we all took turns asking questions and taking our pictures.
Five remaining couples advance to the Semi-Finals and perform two routines during plugged/unplugged, on “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET). The semi-finalists including Tommy Chong, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Sadie Robertson will perform to two different versions of the same song. In the first round of the competition, the couples will perform a Jazz, Quickstep, Samba, Paso Doble or Argentine Tango to an original or “plugged” version of their selected song. In round two of the competition, the couples will perform an Argentine Tango, Rumba, or Contemporary routine to an acoustic or “unplugged” version of that same song.
