In July 1975, two Oklahoma State graduates, Steve File and Stan Clark, shook hands and leased a two-story building. They had this crazy idea: “Let’s open a bar with the coldest beer in town.” Steve suggested the name Eskimo Joe’s. Stan agreed. And they hired a freshman art student, Bill Thompson, to draw a logo. That’s how Joe and Buffy were born, and now they are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2025.
