Cookie Cutter Art

4. Get out all the those cookie cutters and use some kids washable paint to create masterpieces on paper plates, construction paper or even white printer paper.  Pour a little paint onto a paper plate and have the kiddos dip the cookie cutters and use them like stamps.

5. Older children can use the cookie cutters as stencils. Once they've traced them on to solid or patterned paper they can cut them out. They can use the cutouts to decorate boxes, empty butter tubs or just create a scene on construction paper.

6. Cookie cutters are great for creating shapes with Play-Doh.

Coffee Filter Butterflies and other awesome things you can make.

7. Decorate coffee filters with paint, stickers and or glitter. The pinch the filter towards the middle and secure with pipe cleaners, string or clothespin. Glue or twist pieces of pipe cleaner or any other sturdy materials you may have to one end as antennae.

8. Make giant flowers by coloring the middle of the filter one color and the rest something different. You can then glue your flower at the long end of construction or printer paper. The kiddos can then use crayons to draw the stem and leaves.

9. The kiddos can also make works of art by coloring the middle of the coffee filter with markers. They don't have to completely fill it in. When they're done, they can use a spray bottle to spray water on to the filter. This will give their design a beautiful tye-dyed effect. Once the filter dries they can cut out shapes or just glue their art to construction paper and hang it.

10. Older children can make coffee filter snowflakes. Fold the coffee filter in half 4 times then have them use scissors or a hole punch along the sides to cut out shapes. Then they can open it up and admire their handiwork
