Amazon Prime Membership Going Up – What You Can Do!
Starting February 18th, Amazon Prime membership is gonna cost you $20 more a year to sign up!
The new price for Amazon Prime membership is $139.00 per year or $14.99 per month if you have that option. Starting March 25th any renewals will see the increase. Seems like the $20 increase occurs about every 4 years – $79 to $99 in 2014, $99 to $119 in 2018, and now $119 to $139 in 2022. If you don't have prime already click here and score before the price goes up!
Here's What You Can Do Before You Renew:
If you already have an Amazon Prime membership and want to avoid paying the $139 price, score yourself a Gift Membership (you have 3 years to redeem it)! Purchase a year of Amazon Prime at the current price of $119. Then make sure to head to your account settings and set your current membership to NOT auto-renew.
When your membership expires, you’ll be able to apply the Gift Membership to your account and score a full year of Prime for the $119 rate – what a deal!
Not sure how to turn off your auto renewal?
- Head over here
- Click on “Prime – View Benefits & Payment Settings” (upper right corner)
- Click on “Manage Membership”
- Click on End Membership
- Click on “Keep My Benefits” and your Prime membership will remain in effect until it expires.
