I forgot to put my bagels and French bread loaf in the pic!

Today Melissa (Consumer Queen) and I hit the road and went to the grand opening of the WinCo store in Moore, Oklahoma.  The parking lot was packed and the line to get in was around the building. They were letting in about 30 people at a time so it went pretty quick.

Once we got in the store, it was crowded but not so bad you couldn’t shop relatively well. The grand opening prices are AMA-ZING! I spent $19.04 for all the stuff you see pictured above. Melissa spent about $70 and her cart was piled high!

Here’s What I Bought:

  • 6 bottles of Kraft BBQ sauce 18 oz. 25¢ each ($1.50) – limit 6
  • 6 bottles of Heinz ketchup 20 oz. 25¢ each ($1.50) – limit 6
  • 1 dozen eggs 58¢
  • 2 organic lemons 88¢ each ($1.76)
  • 1 lime 28¢
  • 2 small cantaloupe 33¢ each (66¢)
  • bananas 25¢ – not sure why they only rang up 25¢??
  • 2 Diet Dr. Pepper 2-liter soda 98¢ each ($1.96)
  • 2 Friskies canned cat food 48¢ each (96¢)
  • 2 Honey Nut Cheerios 98¢ each – $1.00/2 coupon = 48¢ each (96¢) – limit 2
  • WinCo distilled water – 1 gallon 68¢
  • French bread loaf 48¢
  • 2 bagels 38¢ each (76¢)
  • Sparkle paper towels 6 big rolls (= 8 reg. rolls) $2.78 – $1.00 coupon = $1.78! – limit 2
  • 2 Angel Soft bath tissue 12-pk double rolls $2.78 each – (2) .45/1 coupons = $4.66 ($2.33 each) – limit 2

We also received a WinCo shopping tote, coupons and (3) $10.00 off a $40 purchase to use for the next 3 months.

Key points to remember when shopping WinCo:

  • They except manufacturer’s coupons but do not double. You can read their complete coupon policy here.
  • No weekly ad or in-store flyers.
  • Customers bag their own groceries – bags are provided.
  • Prices change as follows: Vendor items (things that are delivered on a regular basis like Coke, Lay’s etc.) change price every other Wednesday. WinCo buys in bulk on other items and the price will stay the same until they run out of it.
  • They accept credit cards, cash, checks or debit cards. NOTE: They are the only WinCo that accepts credit cards.
  • Do not have a pharmacy.
  • Open 24 hours.

We found WinCo (stands for Winning Company) to be set up very similar to Crest Foods.  Over all the prices are similar to Crest and Walmart, although some things, both Melissa and I thought were a little too expensive for us. We expect prices to drop after they do a little comparing at Crest & Walmart and adjust to Oklahoma’s cost of living.

Something we thought was a little humorous, Crest employees were walking the store checking out the competition while we were there (in their uniforms).

Coupon Matchups:

Here’s a few coupon deals we saw while we were there – the prices will be good for 10 days starting today 🙂

NOTE: If you don’t have Winco as one of your ibotta favorites do this:  Open your app and click on “find rebates” and then click “grocery”. Then go all the way to the top and click on “all”. Scroll all the way down until you see WinCo on the list and then click the star next to it. ~ Thanks VyVu!
