I have a really nice lady that works behind the cosmetics counter at the Walgreens I shop at. Magdna knows I post on the blog so she always alerts me to any unadvertised deals she comes across. Here's one of those deals.

Magdna also alerted me to a not so nice thing that happened at our Walgreens that affects this deal. I'll post about at the end.

NOTE: Give them the Wags coupon first then the manufacturer's cpns because they'll need to adjust one of the mfg. cpns down to $1.18. If your Wags has a problem with adjusting cpns take their cpn policy with you 🙂

If you didn't get the $2.00/1 cpns (we Okies only got $1.00/1) and you can't find any hangtag cpns use (2) $1.00/1 and you'll pay $1.18 ($.60 ea.) – still an awesome deal!

Now, to the Walgreens incident: While I was at Walgreens (122nd & N. May -OKC), Magdna came up to me upset and said “you know what happened today”? She then proceeded to tell me that right after a customer bought some sunscreen using the $2.00/1 hangtag cpns and left she noticed that EVERY ONE of the $2.00 hang tag cpns were gone! She had just put up a sign behind the Hawaiian Tropic advertising the $2.00 savings and put out the hangtags.

She was very unhappy and told me she had to turn around and take down the sign because there were no more cpns. Cashiers who work the cosmetics counter work on commission and cpns are vital to getting people to buy in that area.  So not only did that person (being greedy)prevent others from taking advantage of the deal but probably lost Magdna some sales.

I'm confident that it wasn't a CQ reader who did it but wanted to post this as a reminder that when you're teaching someone to cpn or if your real new to couponing that taking multiple peelies, tearpads or hangtags is not a very nice thing to do.

When I bought my Hawaiian Tropic, I paid with RR because there were no hangtags for me to use. But other Walgreens may have them. I ended up paying $.61 (tax included) out of pocket.
