I encountered a problem at my local Walmart (Tulsa) yesterday purchasing $.97 batteries and using my $1.00 coupon. Because the coupon exceeded the amount of the batteries, the computer would not allow the scan.
They explained that they cannot take any coupons that will not scan. However, a manager came to the rescue and manually entered the coupon at the price of the batteries instead of the face value of the coupon. So I still was able to get the batteries free, but wanted to mention this as you may encounter the same problem on $.97 items that you use $1.00 off coupons for.
Mikki, most coupons that exceed the value of the product will beep at the register. Both the cashier and the manager are not well versed on Walmart’s coupon policy! They should have manually put in the full value of the coupon. Print a copy of the Walmart Coupon Policy and take it with you the next time….hope this helps 🙂
