Walmart Information Page

walmart_store Welcome to our Walmart information page! You can click on any of the links below to get current or ongoing deals or information on shopping at Walmart.

Here’s a few Wal-mart quick facts:

Does not double cpns (they are allowing doubling in a few test areas right now)

Allows overage: for example, if you buy a $.50 item and give them a $1.00 cpn on that item they will either give you the $.50 change or apply the remaining $.50 to the rest of your purchase!

Accepts other stores cpns if they state “manufacturer’s coupon” on them and if they are a specific amount off of a specific product.  Will not accept $$ off your next purchase cpns.

Price matches identical items from another store’s ad.  You do not have to bring in the competitor’s ad to get the price match.

Hi Queen Mum and Consumer Queen.

I just returned from shopping at Walmart and I had a coupon for Pert Plus
$1.00 off and it says on any Pert so I got the trial size which was 97 cents
and I had a coupon for Wilkinson Sword Razors with a $1.00 coupon which the regular price was 97 cents and they wouldn’t let me use them because they said that the product was less than the coupon.
But I also had a $1.00 coupon for any size Black Flag product and it was 98 cents and they let me use that coupon. I don’t understand. Please explain. Thanks so much.

    • Queen_Mum May 22, 2011, 1:54 PM

Deborah what Walmart did you go to?? They should have taken all three of your coupons.

  • Angie May 22, 2011, 4:39 PM

I, also had a similar situation. I had $1 off ANY tide product. Tried to purchase the tide travel packet and the cashier said I wasnt able to do that because the product was less than the coupon amount??? I asked her if she would check the coupon policy but she said that it didnt really matter because the item was already cheap so why should I need a coupon to pay for it anyways. I was kind of offended, but I just left it alone. But shouldnt I have been able to use the coupon????

    • Queen_Mum May 23, 2011, 12:35 PM

Yes you should have and next time ask for the manager and take in a copy of the policy….it sounds like they need to be educated LOL!!

  • DEBORAH MILLS May 23, 2011, 4:24 PM

    Hi Queen Mum.

I went to the Walmart in Moore. After the cashier said I couldn’t use these coupons I went to the service and the person in charge told me the same

    • Queen_Mum May 23, 2011, 5:42 PM

That’s too bad… sure and take a copy of the policy with you the next time you go. You can get a copy by clicking on coupons at the top of the blog page and then store coupon policies from the drop down box:)

  • mariella ruiz May 26, 2011, 1:22 PM

Hi I’m trying to get into coupons and I just cant print any coupons because i dont have a printer. I search for grocery coupons mailed to your home and i just keep finding coupons you can print on line. Do you have any advice?

    • Queen_Mum May 26, 2011, 3:28 PM

mariella, alot of the coupons will give you an option to have them mailed to you house if you don’t have a printer. Look for things like “having trouble printing?” You can click on that and usually they will mail one to you. Hope this helps.

I was told by a friend that walmart will honor other stores coupons so I called the store on Sooner and asked the lady at the customer service desk and she said they did. When I got to the store I asked the AM and he also said they would honor the coupons. Just let the cashier now what was going on. However when I got to the register it was a different story. Not one but two SM’s told me that not everyone in the store was on the same page and that if they couldn’t scan the coupon then I couldn’t use it. So, I had to go through my stuff and get the coupon items from the other stores. I was not a happy customer when I left.

    • Queen_Mum June 7, 2011, 5:50 PM

Melissa that can be frustrating! They should have told you that their policy is if the coupon doesn’t scan they won’t take it. FYI on the taking other stores coupons: make sure the coupon says “manufacturer’s coupon” on it because if it says Target coupon etc. they won’t take it. They also won’t take coupons that don’t give a specific item at a specific price….for example if the coupon says Tide BOGO free they won’t take it but if it says Buy 1 Tide at $3.99, get one free they’ll take it. They also won’t take coupons that say $3.00 off your next order etc.

  • jacquie hill June 7, 2011, 5:29 PM

They CAN and SHOULD adjust the coupon amount to match the lower price thats what they do for me at homeland all the time!!

  • Christy June 10, 2011, 11:28 AM

Walmart will take coupons from another store -Exampel———-The coupon read Tide $5.99 they have to take it.That’s how it is explained from the home office. They will not take a coupon that reads 5 for $1.oo or a % off or BOGO free.If you have a problem call 1-800-walmart.I have used coupons from Target and Walgreens at Walmart. Dollar General has a coupon in the store for $1.oo off Ragu (it’s by the Ragu) it says manufacture coupon.Use it at Walmart and Ragu is .68

  • weslie June 15, 2011, 8:05 PM

i love your store food and style can u pleaze bring coupons for me at 108st in a blue and yellow house.

  • Kimmie June 23, 2011, 8:58 PM

Yes…what our walmarts in Georgia do is: They take everyone’s coupons. If you take in a coupon for $2 off of Gain from Trget…and then have a dollar off manufacturer, they take the $2 off the total price and then take the $1 off manufacturer. The great thing is then they are supposed to give you the competitors coupons back. They told me that they do that because it won’t do them any good at all 🙂 I love Walmart now that I am using coupons again!!! I stopped using them for years after my kids got grown…but now Im doing it all over 🙂

  • Lisa July 6, 2011, 12:13 PM

I was leaving the Wal-Mart at 104th and Western last night and happen to see a ton of Pillsbury cake mixes and icing set with blue and red stars for the 4th of July marked down to .75 each. I had coupons from for .55 cents off and got them for .20 cents each. They had a whole shelf right by the customer service desk. The expiration date was November of 2012 so they will stay good till next 4th of July. =)

  • Cherie July 17, 2011, 7:04 PM

The $2 off tide or gain coupon that came in the Sunday paper, do you think it will work on trial size or travel size tide at walmart?

    • Queen_Mum July 17, 2011, 8:06 PM

The coupon says on any powder and the trial sizes at Target and Walmart are liquid so nope …..that would have been a good deal though!

  • Cherie July 18, 2011, 10:31 PM

Your right. Only laundry mats have powder in a small size. And they don’t take coupons, lol.

  • worksatwalmart July 20, 2011, 3:41 PM

Hi all, I know that using coupons at Walmart can be frustrating Having worked at four different stores I can say that the training is not equal in every store. Some cashiers or csm’s know the policies better than others. Below are some tips for different situations.
Matching store coupons: we do and they do not have to be manufacturers only coupons, however if they are not manufacturer ones then this does not fall under the coupon policy it falls under the price match policy and the non manufacturer coupons will be treated as a price over ride because they will not scan. You will be able to use a manufactures coupon as well as a store coupon. Just think of the store coupon as an advertised sales price
Coupons that are money makers: This is allowed and in fact Walmart is one of the few stores that allow you to get cash back if the item is less than the coupons.
Asking for a manager: Ask for a customer service manager as we are given specific training for our area that goes more in depth to the over all training the managers receive.
Happy couponing all and thanks for shopping Walmart

  • rich July 25, 2011, 6:39 AM

Hi is this also available in canada?

  • Tara Lee July 25, 2011, 6:31 PM

Does Wal-mart not allow coupon stacking for a single item, even though the coupons are not the exact same? For example, I went into Wat-mart to buy 1 Tide detergent and I had a .35 and .50 off coupon for Tide, but they said I couldn’t use both just one coupon per item. I thought you just couldn’t use more then one of the exact same coupon per item, which makes sense, but if they are different I don’t understand why they wouldn’t take both. Can you please explain this, I’m confused. Thank you.

    • Queen Mum July 26, 2011, 10:57 AM

Manufacturer’s will not allow anyone to use more than 1 manufacturer’s coupon per item no matter what they are valued. This rule applies to all stores not just Walmart. Stacking refers to using a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon together on one item. For example, Target puts out their own coupons that say “Target Coupon” along the top instead of manufacturer’s coupon. These coupons can be used with a regular coupon on the same item. Walmart doesn’t put out store coupons at this time so stacking can’t be done there. 🙂

    Hello Everyone,
I have a question about Walmart price match.
So…for example, i just recently started paying attention on the ads from other groceries so that i can see if they have better deals than Walmart and i can ask Walmart to do a price match..
    for instance, Kroger’s sale items will say VO5 87cents with card;
does it matter that it says ‘with card’ will Walmart still do a price match? how about on items that Kroger, Albertson’s to name a couple- say 2 for $5; will Walmart match this sale??

I would really appreciate someone’s input
    thank you!

    • Queen Mum July 28, 2011, 8:52 PM

Hey Linda, Yes they will price match since the ad says V05 (specific item) for $.87(specific price) with Kroger’s card they will price match. You’ll have to take your Krogers Card with you as well as the ad. Most Walmarts require you to show the store card to get the price match. Walmart will price match any price no matter how it’s listed in the ad as long as it list’s a specific product for a specific price. For example, they wouldn’t price match if it said 20% off V05 or $2 off any V05.

  • linda July 28, 2011, 12:21 PM

hey.. where is my message i posted the other day… hmm. n-who my question is the following:
will Walmart do a price match on items for Kroger that say for instance price of $5 with Card (kroger card)
will Walmart still do a price match?
what about on items that other stores have for 2 for $5??
    can someone help

    • Queen Mum July 28, 2011, 8:42 PM

Walmart will only price match from a store ad. If the Kroger ad has a certain item for $5.00 with use of the Kroger card the if you take the ad and your Kroger card to Walmart they will price match the exact same item. As long as the ad has a specific item for a specific price they will price match when you bring in the ad…..if it requires a store card to get the ad price then you have to bring in your store card also. That goes for the 2 for $5.00 or anything else. Hope this helps:)

  • linda July 29, 2011, 8:47 AM

oh, i see. Well this helps a bunch.
i will be doing my grocery shopping tomorrow and will take another look at the ads to see if i can bring any with me to Walmart

    thank you

  • Vikki July 30, 2011, 10:16 AM

I know walmart will give you money back if I use a $1.00 off coupon on a .97 item. But how about a item that I have a coupon for free max. value $3.00 but item only cost $2.00 can I still get money back? I just tried to do that and they ask manager and I was told no.

    • Queen Mum July 30, 2011, 11:36 PM

On a free item they write the exact price in and only give you that without the overage (that’s what they always do at my Walmart)

  • Jamie Leonard August 1, 2011, 2:58 PM

Hello, I have heard rumors regarding walmarts possibly doing double coupons. Is this true? Please let me know.

  • karen August 13, 2011, 12:49 PM

I enjoy shopping at wal-mart but deeply disappointed because the other night I purchased JJ band-aids with a tear pad coupon, tide, and cascade. All of my coupons exceeded the value of the product but, that wasn’t my problem. My problem was some didn’t scan and they wouldn’t take them. I was not happy considering just the following week purchased some of the same products and had no problems because they just rang them as vendor coupons. Sometimes they make you feel like a thief and use are using the coupons correctly. Also, the walmart in Tucson, Az on Valencia is doubling coupons.

  • mslorette September 19, 2011, 8:58 PM

Wal-Mart has come a long way with coupons. I used to work for a major couponing company…and called on Wal-Mart Headquarters every week. I even relocated to Bentonville to try to convince them that couponing was the way to go. They hated coupons. They then had a policy of no coupons/peelies/pads allowed in the store. We finally got them to try the red coupon machines for a very short time. So the fact that they are so much more open to coupons…is a big thing! They redeem more coupons then any other chain…so one would think their cashiers would be better informed!

  • Amanda October 11, 2011, 7:58 AM

I used the the $8off any two Covergirl face products coupon the other day and should have received a 0.52 credit toward the rest of my purchase but they didn’t give it to me.

    • Queen Mum October 11, 2011, 3:56 PM

Next time have your coupon policy with you so you can show them what they are supposed to do 🙂

  • mary November 4, 2011, 12:37 PM

just a heads up ,i tried to use the jello pudding coupons at the walmart in madill and instead of giving 1.25 credit, they only will allow you .98 credit, they told me it was because the jello was on sale ,but anyway i very politely told them that i would just put them back,so watch when you use them to see if they ring up correctly.

    • Queen Mum November 5, 2011, 8:24 AM

They cannot do that Mary……next time have a copy of their coupon policy which clearly states they are to give full value of the coupon….sorry you had so much trouble!!

  • WalmartCSM November 19, 2011, 10:38 AM

    Hey All,

Just a heads up as someone stated before. We take all manufacturer’s coupons. We will also price match any competitors coupons. But we cannot do % off or BOGOs, it must say $1.00 or something of that nature. We also cannot exceed the value of the items on a buy one get one free from a manufacturer nor can we take two coupons on one product as the manufacturer will not reimburse us for one of those usually the greater and therefore the store loses money. I understand coupons help a ton and i try to honor all customer coupons within reason but there are guidelines we as a company must follow to make sure we aren’t just giving away money. Please try and read your coupons carefully and make sure there are not size limitations or quantity limitations. I use coupons and i try to be very careful just so I am not upset when they don’t work because they should. Thanks so much for shopping at Walmart. I am a college student working my way through college and Walmart allows me to make enough for that so your business is greatly appreciated.

    Best Wishes,

I just left my local Walmart a bit confused…The crabby old cashier refused to take a manufactures coupon after a price-match. 1st she was totally annoyed when I asked her to price match the item from a local store ad… She demanded to see the ad… I know the price match policy states you don’t need to bring the ad but I had it anyway so it was not a problem…. But at the end of my transaction when I handed her my coupons, she rolled her eyes and inspected every coupon … When she got to the one for the price-Match item… She said “We don’t take coupons after price matching… I thought I may have missed this in their policy but after reading it again… I can’t find anything that states this…. Does anybody have any information about this? Thanks

    • Queen Mum November 22, 2011, 10:51 AM

Which Walmart did you go to???

I have a question about the price matching, I had a price matched for an item, they asked if I had my ad to prove it and when I didn’t and they couldn’t find anything in any of there ad’s ( I couldn’t remember for sure what store it was that had it on sale ) but because they couldn’t find it they wouldn’t price match it.. Also, if I have a price match for a store and another stores coupon like target can I do both??

    Thanks for the help 🙂

  • Judy March 21, 2012, 11:36 AM

Our Walmart will take coupons but have yet to give me any overage on any of them , I have talked with the checkers several times but I just don’t think they are being trained to give the overage.

  • Donnell April 29, 2012, 7:31 PM

Hi, I have a question about an incident at my Wal-Mart in Pryor, OK. I’m sure this question has been asked and address already but I’m going to ask anyway. I had 2 coupons for 1.44 oz chocolate bars that were BOGO free. The chocolate bars were 88 cents a piece. I bought 4. The lady at the register said that I could only use 1 of the coupons because they don’t accept more than 1 of the same coupon. I was a little confused because I’ve used 2 of the same coupon before. Is this a new policy/ I’m just curious. Thanks!

  • candace Barnard May 25, 2014, 7:17 PM

Does Walmart price match any store even that store does not located in OK state

    • Queen Mum May 26, 2014, 7:43 PM

Walmart store will only price match stores that are within a certain distance from them. Each store is different on how far away they will accept a price match.
