Have You Heard About Anthem Insurance?

If you've followed my blog you may know that I have three kids, two of which are now on their own.  My son is 18 and my daughters are 21, so it's time to start thinking about helping them figure how to choose their own health plans for the future.  I wanted to share this information about Anthem with you, my readers, who may be in a similar situation.  There are insurance plans at all price levels it seems, but it's so important to choose a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.

About Anthem

One thing I like about Anthem is that it can help select a health plan best for particular age groups.  The website is easy to navigate and their infographic (below) can give you an idea of what to look for. For example, we know that our healthy college age kids won't be using the same amount of benefits as older adults.  But at the same time, they do need health care coverage in case of a sudden illness, accident, etc.

The Anthem Age-by-Age Health Benefits Guide can help select the right plan for you. For my girls, it would be the high deductible, critical illness and accident coverage, and doctors visits in the 19-25 age group.  The next age group includes major medical and a recommendation for dental and vision, which many may need as young families starting out.

For older adult age group (ages 65 and above), Anthem has information that can help you understand Medicare and supplemental benefits.  For my own family members like my mom who have gone through the process of signing up for Medicare, information is key.  If you know what your needs are and what is offered, you can feel better and more confident about the process.

For the ages 45-64, Anthem recommends coverage that includes benefits like long term care, disability and screenings. Having had some screenings myself in the last year or so, I can assure you that it's important to think ahead and have medical coverage! Preventative medical care is so important, but it shouldn't have to break the bank!

For 65 and above, I like the way Anthem can point you in the right direction with Medicare coverage and supplemental.  Everyone is different so it's necessary to have guidance to choose the right coverage for you.
