Slow Cooker Orange Chicken
Try this Slow Cooker Orange Chicken for an easy weeknight meal!
With my crazy schedule I am trying to use my slow cooker more and this recipe was a hit.
I know with slow cooker recipes you need new and more exciting recipes to try sometimes.
People get stuck with chili, soups and stews…but the slow cooker can do so much more!
Chicken is one of my favorite things to try in the crock pot, for several reasons.
For one, It's healthy! You can add a veggie side if you're sticking to low carb meals, or to make it more family friendly a rice side will fill everyone up. You can adapt this meal a lot of different ways.
This recipe calls for the chicken, and just a few condiments you may already have in the pantry!
- Smucker's Sweet Orange Marmalade
- Barbecue Sauce (preferred brand)
- Soy Sauce
Just add your chicken to the slow cooker, mix your ingredients and pour over! As the chicken cooks it will create its own moisture, so it shouldn't dry out.
For this recipe I used rice as a side, but you can also switch that out for cauliflower rice, Asian noodles, over a veggie bowl, and so much more.
You can just adapt it to your family's taste.
It also works well with meal prep, since you can throw a few extra chicken breasts into the slow cooker and make extra ahead for more meals.
Meal prepping is always one of the first things I do if I realize we've gotten into a habit of eating too much outside the house! LOL!
You can shred this, or serve in whole chicken breast servings as pictured below.
This is such a bright and colorful dish!

Slow Cooker Orange Chicken
Easy Main Dish for The Slow Cooker!
Ingredients
- 4 Chicken Breast
- 1 Crockpot bag
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 3/4 cup Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce
- 3/4 cup Smuckers Sweet Orange Marmalade
Instructions
Place Crockpot bag in the Crockpot
Place chicken in Crockpot on high (thawed) and let cook for 3 hours
In a bowl mix Soy Sauce, Barbecue sauce & Orange Marmalade and then spread over chicken
Cook for at least another 30 mins
I served mine over white minute rice.
Notes
The Crock pot bag is not essential to the recipe, but keeps the orange marmalade from sticking (and possibly burning) in the bottom of the Crock Pot. So it is recommended.
