On Dr. Seuss Day it is customary to read a favorite book with your child. It could be one of Dr. Seuss’s books or it could be any children's book. The whole point of the day is to engage children in reading and to get them to read on a regular basis.

Barnes & Noble
Head to Barnes & Noble for storytime, games, and activities in celebration of the beloved author's birthday. Saturday, March 2nd. Visit www.bn.com/events to find a store near you! Dr. Seuss books will be on sale starting at only $3.50!
Target Stores
Participating Target stores will have reading and activities every half hour from 10-11:30 AM.

Check with your local library. many are planning special events to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Myriad Botanical Gardens – OKC
Visit Oklahoma City's Myriad Botanical Gardens from 10:00 – 12:00 am om March 2nd. They'll have everyone’s favorite character, Cat In the Hat, to read stories and tell fun Dr. Seuss facts. Kids can learn from the Lorax about how to take care of our animal and plant friends while visiting our special Oklahoma City Zoo visitors. There will also be Dr. Seuss inspired crafts and a fun area for taking pics!
On September 3rd, a new Dr. Seuss book is set to be released! “Dr Suess' Horse Museum” will be available at most bookstores for purchase!
An unfinished manuscript by the late children’s author is the basis for “Dr. Seuss’s Horse Museum,” Random House Children’s Books announced that illustrator Andrew Joyner completed the text. The book features horse artwork by Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock among others and will include cameos from such Seuss favorites as the Grinch and the Cat in the Hat.
