If you are a parent of a child in grades 1-6, this deal is for you!

Score a FREE book when your child reads eight books this summer and can write a short journal entry (there is space for 1-2 lines) on which one is his or her favorite book, and why.

From what it looks like, there are recommendations for books on the instruction page, but these specific books are not required.  Of course these books may be reserved through your local library, so your child can read them for free.

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here to help you on your way, encouraging you to read books of your own choosing and earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:

• Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (English or Español). Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
• Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 15th and September 3rd, 2018. Find a Store
• Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal
