5 Fan Favorites are Coming Back!
Starting October 31st get ready for a throwback menu at Taco Bell. They're bringing back five nostalgic menu items from the past 50 years, some we haven't seen in forever! The five returning items were all hits in one of the five decades since the restaurant chain was founded in the 1960s. Prices may vary by area.
The nostalgic Decades Menu includes the Tostada, Green Burrito, Meximelt, Beef Gordita Supreme, and Caramel Apple Empanada. Sorry Enchirito fans, they're not coming back, at least not yet. For a limited time only, so enjoy while you can.
The Tostada was one of the menu items when the fast food chain first opened its doors in 1962. The crispy tostada shell was topped with refried beans, red sauce, lettuce, and shredded cheese. The Tostada was discontinued in 2020. $2.19
The Green Burrito (I'm doing the happy dance for this one) was popular in the 1970s. Features refried beans, onions, cheddar cheese, and a spicy green sauce made from green chili, tomatillos, jalapeños, and spices. Oh how I've missed green sauce! $2.49
Meximelt gained fame in the 1980s. Made with pico de gallo, a three-cheese blend, and seasoned beef in a tortilla. Taco Bell discontinued the Meximelt in 2018. $2.99
Beef Gordita Supreme was very popular in the 1990s. Made with warm flatbread stuffed with seasoned beef, sour cream, lettuce, a three-cheese blend, and tomatoes. Was discontinued around 2018. $2.99
The Caramel Apple Empanada appeared in the 2000's and is made with a crispy fried dough coated with cinnamon sugar and filled with apples and creamy caramel filling. Was discontinued in 2019. This item will be introduced for a limited time November 21st. $2.99
To celebrate the new menu, Taco Bell is releasing retro-inspired decades merch. Taco Bell fans can snag limited-edition Decades Hoodies and Stainless Steel Decades Cups with five designs inspired by the past 50 years of Taco Bell. On Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. EST, the first 500 Taco Bell Rewards members to enter will receive one hoodie and one cup. If you miss out, you'll also have a chance to win the merch by taking the Taco Bell weekly “Decades Quiz” in the Taco Bell app.
Taco Bell will be giving away plastic versions of the cup when you order a medium soft drink. The drink will come in a random commemorative decades cup while supplies last.
