Printable coupons 101 – how to get multiple coupons!

Since there has been a  question about using multiple cpns on my Homeland post I thought I'd share a short lesson on printables in case there is someone else out there who doesn't understand about getting multiple printable-coupns.

On most cpn websites you are allowed to print 2 cpns PER computer.  Since the cpn is tied to your IP address and not your physical address you can print multiple cpns IF you have multiple computers.

For example: I have 2 computers so that means if I want to, I can print (2) $1.00/1 Philly Cooking Cream from each of them giving me 4 cpns! Each of the 4 cpns will have a totally different serial number on them letting the cashier and the clearing house (where the cpns are sent for redemption) know they were not copied on a copying machine or scanner.

You cannot make your own copies of a printable-coupon.  As I said, each cpn has it's own serial number and if you make copies they will all have the same one. If this is not caught by the cashier it will be caught at the clearing house when they scan the cpns.  If multiple cpns are found with the same serial number then they will be discarded and the store will not be reimbursed.

If anyone has any questions please leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer it 🙂

  1. I have been trying to do this from my laptop and desktop, but each time I go to the second computer I get these message that I have already printed the allowed number of times. What am I doing wrong?

    1. I’m not sure Brenda….I have a laptop and a desk top and print from both. The only thing I can think of is somehow your two computers have gotten tied together and have the same IP address….I’m not very techy though so you might want to ask someone who knows computers.

  2. The ability to print more than two may also depend on the link to the coupon. When you click on a coupon link on a manufacturer’s website it will usually allow you to print 2 per computer. However, sometimes coupon links may have special codes embedded in them that only allow 2 prints per the link regardless of the computer they are printed from. These links are usually ones you get in an email, like when you sign up for newsletters from manufacturers. Sometimes people will receive an email with a coupon link, they’ll print the coupons and then go post that link on a blog or message board to share. And when the link is coded specifically for that one recipient, you’ll usually see a lot of comments following that post saying “It tells me I have already printed the coupon the number of times allowed, but I know I never printed it before.”

  3. Hello, I am still new to printing my own coupons. How do you even get the option to print two of each coupon? I was printing coupons yesterday and after i checked each of the little boxes of the coupons i wanted to print, the only option was to click ‘print now’, it did not give me the option of printing each coupon one or two times. Also, when i refreshed the page, the coupons I had already ‘clipped’ were no longer available to choose for printing. Is there something else I should be doing to get my choice of coupons to print two copies instead of just one?

Thanks in advance for your help with this!

    1. Jackie, there are two ways you can print two. Sometimes just hitting the back button on your computer will do it but you can also just go back to the coupons after you have printed them once and do it again. Here’s a tip: once you have printed a coupon, lots of times the coupon site will move it to the very last page of coupons. So if you don’t see it under the category you found it in the first time scroll through to the last page. Hope this helps 🙂

  4. I just printed 5 huggies coupons…will all 5 work or just the first 2? btw, it’s my first time printing coupons so I’m still new to this printing thing…
