I just had to share this awesome deal I scored at CVS today! I was looking thru the clearance shelf and spotted this box of 40-ct AA batteries. The box was pretty worse for wear but the packs of batteries were in excellent shape.

I decided I'd scan them just to see if they were really on clearance and I was happily surprised to see $3.74 pop up on the screen!  I saw that the expiration date on the batteries was July 2016 so I scooped up the box and headed for the register. I use a lot of batteries so this was an awesome deal for me.

I've been taking advantage of the new cvs website and had my latest $5 in ECB from my Beauty Club purchases sent directly to my card. This was the first time I'd done it and was anxious to see how it would work at the register.

After the cashier scanned my card and rang up the batteries the register prompted her to ask me if I wanted to use the ECB I had on my card. I said yes but had to add a pack of Orbit gum to my purchases so I wouldn't waste any of my ECB. Just like the paper ECB, you don't get change so keep that in mind.

CVS 40-ct. AA batteries $3.74
Orbit Gum $.99
Total: $4.73 + .40 tax =$5.13
Final price: $5.13 – $5 ECB used = 13¢

Just about all the CVS stores here in OK are clearancing out small electronics (clock radios, ear buds, phone accessories, batteries etc.) so be sure and check out the clearance area next time your shopping CVA!
