Verizon Wireless is providing FREE Teen Technology Safety Class for Parents in Oklahoma. Verizon Wireless is teaming up with public libraries across the state during Teen Technology Month to help parents learn about ways they can keep their kids and teens safe while using wireless devices.

March 12 – Norman Public Library @ 6:00 pm
March 12 – Lawton Public Library @ 6:00 pm
March 21 – Midwest City Public Library @ 5:30 pm
March 25 – Edmond Public Library @ 7:00 pm

Some topics of the class include:

· Parental controls within wireless technology – Control when a smartphone/tablet can be used

· Usage Alerts – Manage the amount of data that is being used each month

· Internet Spam Blocking – Block inappropriate emails and websites

· Family Locator – Locate multiple children or family members using your mobile device

“Mobile technology offers a definite advantage for families and children, but it’s extremely important for parents to set limitations and know how their children use the technology, for their child’s safety,” said Tom Nix, data sales consultant for Verizon Wireless “Fortunately, Verizon can point parents to numerous tools and apps that offer parents some peace of mind, while still allowing children to use a smartphone or tablet for the right purposes, regardless of how old their child is.”

Parents will leave the class equipped with implementable tips and tools to help manage their children's wireless devices.
