Every time I have birthday party for my kids I give out the same little plastic treat bag full of goodies. For my daughter’s next birthday party this is what I’m making! These are a great alternative to the blah party bag! They are easy to make and personalize, inexpensive and your little party goers with love them!

 What you need:

Scrap book paper

Embellishments, rhinestones, stickers, cut-outs, beads…etc

Ribbon

Hole punch

Scissors

Pattern

Glue

First gather your supplies and try to get an idea of what you’d like them to look like. Do you want them all the same? Different for each child? I’ve found out my crafts always turn out better when I have a mental picture of what I want them to look like!

Print out the cone pattern and trace it on your paper. Cut out the paper. You can add a pretty scalloped edge along the top before you glue.

Before you bust out the glue do a dry run and fold it into a cone. This will make it easier to get into the shape.

I used a glue gun to glue it together but that’s because I love my glue gun! Other craft glue or adhesive strips will work as well.

Then get creative and add embellishments. My daughters love pink, purple and flowers….anything girly, so that’s the theme I went with. I added lace around the top. On the bottom I put a bead on a wire, twisted it, and glued it into the bottom. I thought it added a fancy touch!

On the top punch one hole on each side across from each other. Thread ribbon through the hole. This will be the handle. I found it helpful if they were able to be untied, so you can easily get them when needed.

Fill with little goodies!

I think one of the best parts of these little cuties is you can use them as decoration during the party and then give them out at the end. They could be used for any theme, tea party, garden party, princess, even for little boys these would be adorable! The possibilities are endless.

So ditch the boring plastic bags for your next party and make these charming party favors!
