This Soothing Dry Scalp Shampoo Recipe is another addition to our DIY recipes with essential oils. This one features scents of Tea Tree, Lavendar, and Jojoba oils.

If you read our last DIY for the Streak Free Glass Cleaner, you may have noticed we use a metal funnel or measuring cups for these recipes.  For this one, it's not required since we are just adding the Essential Oils at the end. You can also use a plastic shampoo bottle or one you have recycled.

If re-using a container, be sure to label your new homemade shampoo! 🙂

Jojoba Oil isn't one of the Young Living oils but you can find this great organic oil here on Amazon. Jojoba is in a lot of hair products and is a great natural product to add for DIY shampoo.  You can find Unscented Castille Soap here or at a department store like Target.

My Essential oils for this recipe are Tea Tree and Lavender.  Tea Tree is one of my favorite oils to add to shampoo…  It's very refreshing.

Mix all your ingredients in your container and add essential oils at the very end.  As you can see the oils are actually a small part of this recipe, and will separate out naturally from the soap.

Immediately before each use give it a good shake to mix the ingredients again.

This shampoo has a nice opacity I love and has plenty of lather.  For an average hair wash you can use 1 Tablespoon, and can use more if needed.

Any shampoo with tea tree oil does have a strong, refreshing feel on your scalp, so be sure to use it yourself before applying to hair for kids or babies.  🙂

I hope you enjoy this natural living DIY!
