Homemade PanAway Bath Salts
More Frugal Tips /My Royal Kitchen/Craft & DIY /RedCarpetMamas
If you have been following along my family journey, you know that my husband suffers from Anklyosing Spondylitis and is in constant pain. He has been known to take up to three baths a day. I know, crazy right? A hot bath just feels really good on his muscles and joints. Since learning about essential oils I have been researching more and more natural ways to help my husband since he is already on a ton of pain medication. I learned that adding Epson salt to a bath would be really good for him. After using the Epson salt for a few weeks I decided to step it up a notch and add PanAway Essential Oil and CopaibaEssential Oil to help him relax.
Recipe:
- 3 cups of Epson Salt
- 10 drops of PanAway
- 10 drops of Copaiba
Add to a glass jar and shake. It is important that you only use glass containers when using essential oils so that it doesn't pull the toxins out of your plastics.
These also make great gifts and you can just about any essential oil to bath salts. You want to make sure that all essential oils say pure and that they say they can be ingested on the back label. This is why I only use Young Living oils.
Why Choose Young Living Oils?
I took me a good 6months to decide to even use essentials oils but after doing my research I chose Young Living Oils. Why? Well, they are the only company that was completely open to me visiting their farm and distillery to check out how authentic and pure their products are. Everyone else said no. So it just so happens that I got to visit the Lavender farm and distillery in Utah to see for myself. Also I love the fact that Young Living Oils do not have an expiration date and that they can be ingested. They gurantee that no pesticides are used on the plants that they grow for their oils.
You see my grandmother used to plant peppermint in her garden and she would pluck a leaf off and put it straight in her mouth or in her tea. You should be able to do this with your oils. The FDA says you only have to have 5-10% pure oil to be considered pure. That means you could be ingesting a lot of chemicals with other brands if you are not carefully doing your own homework.
