I was so excited to get the chance to try the skydiving experience at iFLY Indoor Skydiving! If you're thinking about it for yourself, family member, or group, read on!

About iFLY Indoor Skydiving:

This facility is located in north OKC and is a large indoor skydiving wind tunnel.  You can read more about it here and of course find answers to any frequently asked questions.

I wondered about who all could fly and also wanted to know other details like if there was a trainer present while you “flew” inside the tunnel.

I easily found the answers to my questions on the website.  There are a few restrictions, and you cannot fly if you are pregnant, have certain medical conditions or physical limitations.  You must sign a legal/medical waiver beforehand. As far as who can fly, kids ages 3 and up are able to!  The trainer remains with you inside the wind tunnel for the entire duration of your flight.

Our Indoor Skydive Experience:

The entire process includes signing in, “gearing up”, sitting through a short instruction and safety presentation, and then of course the actual flight. It took a little bit over 1.5 hours for the four of us.  We had the same staff member from the beginning and all the way through our wind tunnel flights, which was a nice aspect! I was a bit nervous!

The wind tunnel is pretty loud so everyone is given disposable ear plugs beforehand.  The tunnel has a video screen which records each person's flight. It has a delay so you can actually watch your own flight on video once your turn in the tunnel is completed.

You will fly one person at a time, and although you're only flying for a minute or so, it seems much longer! They mentioned in the presentation it is an athletic activity and I fully agree! After it was all done with, I felt like I had worked out or at least gone on a quick jog. LOL. Your trainer is right there during the flight.

We had one kiddo in our group and she did great.  If you are thinking of this activity for younger kids, be sure to take their personality into consideration and whether or not they like to do exciting sports and amusement rides.  You can always call ahead and talk to staff members with any concerns ahead of time.

Add On Features:

You have the option to add on extra features to your iFLY experience, including the “High Fly”. Basically they increase the wind tunnel speed so that you go and your trainer go all the way to the top of the tube and drop down together! This repeats a few times and it was a pretty extreme drop. I love roller coaster drops so I thought it was great.

I have to mention, our staff and trainer were great! You can read more and reserve your iFLY experience online here.

I am sure we will be back to iFLY in the near future. It looks easy but it definitely takes practice!  Hope you can try iFly with your family in the future. Thanks for reading!
