Fed Ex lost my BlogHer Swag!
Uggh I am so mad that FedEx lost my swag box from BlogHer! The business center did not open like it was supposed to the morning I was supposed to check out but the hotel “assured” me that they would take care of it! I was so scared to give it to them but had no other choice as I had to catch a plane. They took my ticket, taped it to the box and stuck it inside the business center. I know it's only stuff, but it's the whole point that I “paid” and trusted FedEx to deliver it! Plus my Swiffer award was in there. Ya'll (yes I said Ya'll remember I am from Oklahoma) know I worked hard for that one LOL!
My good friend Monica from MommyBrainReports has been trying to help me out. She used to work for FedEx! The first time she called they said they would put a trace on it. She called back later in the week and they said they hadn't put a trace on it so it never got a ticket. I was like, are you kidding me? So the supervisor said she would put a trace on it herself.
Monica contacted me tonight and informed me they cannot find it so now we have to put in a claim form!!! Uggh do they know how much stuff I got LOL? So now I will have to contact all the companies to make sure I get an accurate count of what was in it!

The good thing is, I met so many great people and made so many lasting friendships and FedEx can't take those memories away! Thank goodness! It's only stuff, but it sure would have been nice to bring it home and show my family and share! Some of the items I had planned on giving to people I know who really need them and that's what makes me even more upset!
So maybe this is just a way for me to vent my frustration LOL!
Forgot to mention that it showed it was picked up from the Hotel!
*** UPDATE 8/11/09***
Got an email from Fed Ex today! They found my box and it is being mailed today and I should receive it in 3 days. Apparently, they did have it under my name but they were telling me they didn't so someone messed up! It had been there since the 4th! So I guess my blog helped someone higher up find out about what was happening! Thanks to Monica and Maria at FedEx for helping us!
Maybe the pickup person decided to take it home. lol (kidding) Sorry to hear that happened to your stuff.
I hope they find it and soon.

Maybe the hotel never sent it? Doesn’t really matter how much you claim, unless you put insurance on it it’s only covered up to $100. I’ve worked in shipping for 6 years now, and at 2 different companies, we’ve never had issues with FedEX. And we ship a LOT, i used to send out 200-300 packages with FedEX a day.

From your story it sounds like the hotel lost your swag not Fed Ex. If Fed Ex did not appropriately enter it into their system I don’t think it’s fair to blame them. I’m so sorry it’s missing though. I hope it turns up!

Guess what – they lost my NEW Toshiba LAPTOP that I shipped home from Chicago!!!
Mine also showed that Fed Ex picked it up and then nothing after that. Disappeared. My other box shipped fine.
