DIY: Beautify Your Knife Block!
More Frugal Tips /The Royal Family/From Our Readers /Guest Post
As I was cleaning up from a previous craft I saw a bottle of paint just sitting there by my dingy, old, plain knife block. It was like it was daring me to paint it! So I thought why not! I decided to paint it silver to match our stainless steel appliances.
First clean the block and do any minor sanding that is needed.
Start painting! It took me about 3 coats. This is a great chance to use up some paint. You could use some left over paint from your kitchen or grab some at your local Walmart for under .60. Walmart also has the sponge brush pictured. It doesn't use that much paint. I didn't even use the whole bottle that is pictured!
I stenciled on a pretty little design. I think an initial would be cute as well. This would make a nice wedding present!
When everything was dry, I took it outside and sprayed it with a clear glaze.
Voila! That's it! A simple, easy and frugal craft! Now go beautify your knife block!
