DIY: Personalize a Flower Pot!
More Frugal Tips /My Royal Kitchen/Craft & DIY /RedCarpetMamas
Now is a great time to buy planters and flower pots on clearance…because they can be expensive! And since I do NOT have a green thumb I don't want to pay full price for plant that I'm pretty sure won't make it. I found this great planter for only $10 at Home Depot. It was perfect to add a little color to my porch. I wanted to spruce up the pot just a little. I think that any time you personalize anything it just makes it look extra fancy and it's so easy to do!
First thing I did was trace a design on. I used a small dish that I like the shape. Then I painted it in with acrylic paint. I used a color that I already had because it only takes about a tablespoon or so. Then let it dry. When I went out side to check on it this is what I found…..
I was not expecting to find one of my chickens laying a egg in my pretty planter…needless to say it's not as pretty anymore! She crushed the plants. Silly chicken!
After the paint was completely dry I added vinyl stickers for our address, you could also do an initial or last name. If you don't have stickers I suggest printing out what you want to write and tracing it. You can use a fine paint brush or even a sharpie.
It's a very easy DIY makeover, but I love the results!
