Specific BeautySpecific Beauty Review! Suffering from adult acne and hyperpigmentation has been a long and losing battle. I have tried everything from mail order acne systems, to home remedies that would include drinking and washing my face with apple cider vinegar. Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, hormone therapy and green tea toners, you name it, I’ve probably tried it.

A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to try a new skin care regimen called Specific Beauty and I have never been more excited to share my review with everyone!

I have to admit, I was very skeptical at first since I have tried several other skin care regimens that have failed me before. However, I discovered that Specific Beauty was developed by a private practice dermatologist and the skin care line is specially formulated for multi-hued skin tones. I felt confident that this product had something different to offer.

Specific Beauty is a skin care regimen that consists of a 3 step treatment in the morning and at night. The morning use starts with an Acne Treatment Cleanser or the Daily Gentle Cleanser. Next, the Skin Brightening Serum (which contains antioxidants, retinol and licorice) is applied to sun spots or acne marks to help correct the skin tone. Third, Daily Hydrating Lotion is used as lightweight moisturizer with SPF 30 UVA/UVB and Vitamin E. (This was the first time I’ve used a moisturizer that has an SPF that didn't make me break out!) The regimen also includes a Professional Moisture Complex that contains lavender and is used as needed to moisturize. (I ended up mixing the Daily Hydrating Lotion with the Professional Moisturizer Complex and found that was the perfect balance for my skin)

The evening use starts with the Acne Cleanser or the Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths. (I ended up using the cloths every other day to give my skin a good scrub after I began to see a reduction in acne) The cloths help to deep clean and remove make-up with no rinsing required! These are also hypoallergenic and ophthalmologist tested for anyone who wears contacts. Next, the Skin Brightening Serum is applied to the affected areas as needed. The last step is the Night Treatment Complex. This is a night treatment that helps even out the skin tone and also helps improve the texture. I was worried the night treatment would be too heavy for my acne prone skin but it never caused any problems.

During my regimen, I noticed that these products had little to no scent. The skin brightening serum had an unusual smell but it went away very quickly. Also, each Specific Beauty product seemed to work together by always keeping my face moisturized and clean. This system was very easy to use and I did not have any issues with my skin getting aggregated. I even started noticing small results in 4-5 days! The entire regimen costs around $100 or you can order each product seperately. Currently if you purchase the entire system, you can save 20% off the full Specific Beauty regimen+ FREE shipping.

Well, it’s been two weeks and I am happy to announce that my acne is 90% gone and the hyperpigmenation has already been reduced by at least 40%! The Specific Beauty website said I should start seeing a 71% reduction in sun spots and acne marks in 4 weeks.  My family and friends are telling me my skin looks so much better and I couldn’t be happier with this product. I plan on continuing my skin care regimen with Specific Beauty and I hope this review helps anyone who is looking for a reliable skin care system!
