Science Museum Oklahoma

It's spring break so I was trying to think of things to do with my kids and some of their friends that are both fun and educational.  We use to visit the science museum a lot several years ago.  My kids have been ask asking to go back so this was the perfect opportunity to get back down there!  I was almost thinking that maybe my kids wouldn't have as much fun because my girls are getting a little older but I was so wrong.  They loved it a lot when they were little and they love it as much or even more now!

The first stop we made was Grossology my kids and their friends were equally as grossed out as they were curious as they explored the exhibit.  Of course the girls were a little more on the grossed out side than the boys!  That is just how it goes I think though!

Grossology will be at Science Museum Oklahoma until September so if you have little one's or maybe even not so little one's you need to make sure and stop by before then!

Find out why the human body produces mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly and stinky gunk at “Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body,” the new traveling exhibition at Science Museum Oklahoma. Grossology is a 2,500 square-foot exhibit based on the best-selling book of the same name by author Sylvia Branzei. The exhibition uses sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to let visitors explore the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more.  Designed for children ages 6-14, Grossology has 12 interactive exhibits that includes a burp machine where visitors can mimic the buildup of acid indigestion causing the machine to release a giant belch, the opportunity to play “Urine: The Game” to explore the role human kidneys play in the digestive pro-cess, and discover the four communication processes that occur right before puking in the vomit center.

The next exhibit we visited was the Off the Wall-Artful Play.  I wan't sure what to expect but I thought it maybe a little more up the girls alley.  I was right they loved it!  The first thing we saw was the big light brite!  Such a fun cool thing for all of the kids! The girls loved the dress -up area and the window that you could trace yourself looking into the mirror on the other side!  The boys most loved the building and the super large light brite!

Off the Wall is an exhibit that engages children and adults alike in the world of artistic play! The exhibit features nine stimulating art activities that use a variety of techniques including mechanical, digital, spatial, and spontaneous to emphasize the scientific methods that are used in the creation process. Explore how art relies on science to aid in creativity, create your own unique works of art, and learn about other artists that use unconventional methods. Come find out what will inspire you!

There was so much to see next time we go we are coming earlier in the day we could of spent so much more time there.  The part that surprised me the most was that my kids still love the kids space!  So many things had changed since we were last there but I think the kids space was close to the same as it was and it has the perfect set up to keep my kids entertained for a long time!

If your looking for something to do with your kids this spring break that is both fun and educational I would definatly recomend Science Museum Oklahoma!  In fact I think I am going to talk to my husband about getting a pass again we have gone the last few years without it since we have been so busy with school and extra activities but even just a few trips a year make the pass pay for itself!

I was compensated for my time but all opinions are my own!
