Double Chocolate Banana Bread – A New Twist on an Old Favorite!
Double Chocolate Banana Bread!
Double Chocolate Banana Bread – Yum!
Banana bread is one of my all time favorite things to make. I have very good memories of my Mom making banana bread. I was the official banana masher. I thought my job was so important! Now my own children are my official banana mashers! I love seeing my children excited to help out in the kitchen, even though sometimes that means more mess!
I noticed that my bananas were going brown, perfect for banana bread! This time I wanted to try something a little different. Over the summer I would make this recipe for Chocolate Zucchini Bread, it turned in my picky eater's favorite treat! So I decided to try some chocolate banana bread and then why not make it double chocolate?! It has bananas in it so it's still healthy, right?!
I got the opportunity try out this mini loaf pan from Good Cook! I've been so impressed with their products. They are really affordable and I love how well they work. The bread comes right out with out sticking! I hate it when I make a delicious cake or bread and half of it sticks in the pan! And you can make 4 mini loafs are once!
I have some good news…I get to give away one of these mini loaf pans and pretty parchment paper from Good Cook! Please be sure to enter!

- 1 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 stick butter, melted

- 1 teaspoon
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips ( I used the mini sized)
Instructions
- In a large bowl Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl stir the mashed bananas, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Carefully fold the banana mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Mix in the chocolate chips.
- Divide up the batter evenly and pour into the mini loaf pan, or a larger loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes for mini loaf pan and 55 to 65 minutes for regular sized loaf or until the bread has risen and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
