How to make Powdered Sugar!
The other night I was making these yummy pumpkin bars for my family. Then I went to go make the frosting….and I was almost out of powdered sugar! Dun Dun DUNNNN! Oh no! I also live out in the country, the nearest store is about 15 minutes away. It was late and I wasn't going to spend the time running to the store just for powdered sugar. So what did I do? I called my Mom!! Moms always know what to do. She told me how to make powdered sugar using granulated sugar, corn starch and my blender. The cornstarch helps it from clumping together. So the next time you are out of powdered sugar give this a try!
How to Make Powdered Sugar!
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon corn starch
Instructions
- Place ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds. Check and see if it's the desired powder consistency. You may need to scrap the sides and keep mixing until it's powdery.
FYI.. for those who cant have corn, you can use potato or tapioca starch as well.
