Hobby Lobby is where you can find good deals every time you step in the store. But if you don’t know the secrets and tricks, you might still be paying more than you have to pay.
If you enjoy shopping at Hobby Lobby and shop there often, you need to find ways to get the most for your money. So before you head to the store, make sure to check out these top shopping secrets!
40 Percent Off Weekly Coupon
Never pay full price, because they always have their awesome 40 percent off coupon.
Hobby Lobby offers coupons and you can get 40 percent off regular priced items that you can use in-store or online.
You can find these coupons on their website or you can get them from Hobby Lobby’s mobile app.
These coupons are on 1 regularly priced item. Say you want 4 of the same item, you’ll only get 40% off one of them…. Unless… you have 3 friends or kids with you. Each of you can check out and use a 40% off coupon on one item. The restriction is 1 per person, per day, so each person can use one coupon in separate transactions.
Know the Sales
There are certain items at Hobby Lobby that go on sale every other week. If you want something and it’s still regularly priced, wait one to two weeks. You can find all the current sales on the Weekly Ad, so no need for guessing before you head over to the store.
At least once a month, Hobby Lobby marks many items down and they can be up to 50 percent off. The items that they consistently put on sale are:
- Scrapbook supplies
- Home accents
- Wood and metal decorations
- Small decorative picture frames
Start With Clearance
Once you set foot inside the store, the first place you should head is the clearance aisle. Easter (pictured above) is gone but check out their latest Spring clearance here.
Hobby Lobby’s clearance aisle has a lot of discontinued and damaged items with discounts up to 90 percent or more. Some of it is seasonal, but you can use it any time! Several years ago I got a butter dish for 19¢ and am actually still using it!
Most stores review their stock in the clearance aisle every six to eight weeks. Depending on the store, they often place an additional 40 percent off on the current price.
Home Accents Events
Take advantage of Hobby Lobby’s Home Accents Events, which happens twice a year. During these events, Hobby Lobby marks down their home accent items starting around 50-60 percent off and continue dropping until they reach 90 percent off!
The first sale starts right after Christmas and items reach 90 percent off around February. The second event starts during Mother’s Day and the items will reach up to 90 percent off around June or July.
If you find an item that is damaged and you still want to purchase it, you can ask for an additional discount. Even slightly damaged items can save you up to 15 percent.
One secret of mine is to actually find the furniture I love on their website, and then head over to see if I can that piece in the clearance or damaged section for much less. Often, it’s just a scrape or minor defect that will save you a large amount of money.
Hold On To Your Receipts
Hobby Lobby follows a 14-day price adjustment policy.
If you purchase an item and it goes on sale within 14 days from the date of your purchase, you can get a price adjustment as long as you have the receipt.
Also, in the event you’re not happy with what you purchased, take the items and your receipt back to Hobby Lobby and they can either exchange, give you a store credit, or issue a refund as long as it’s within 90 days from the date of purchase.
As a general rule, saving receipts is wise. If you don’t have a place to keep them or just prefer not to have the paper receipts lying around, use a NeatReceipts scanner or upload into one of the receipt apps like ReceiptPal or ReceiptHog.
You can get bonuses and, even better, always have a picture of the receipt you can refer to if needed. We have used ReceiptPal for years!
Happy Hobby Lobby Shopping and creating!
