Easy Whipped Coffee Recipe
If you're a coffee lover, see this Easy Whipped Coffee Recipe– it only involves a few steps and this one will be a new favorite treat!
About this Whipped Coffee Recipe:
When I saw this recipe I thought it was so easy it could probably be counted as more of a coffee “hack” than actual recipe. Meaning, it only takes a few minutes and just as many steps. That's my kind of coffee recipe!
The great thing about making Whipped Coffee is that you don't need any special espresso machine or specific coffee blend, just instant coffee.
I love my gourmet coffees when we're eating out or around the holidays, and I'll always take friends up on the offer to meet at Starbucks, but day-to-day my coffee is honestly fairly plain. We keep regular bags of ground coffee in the kitchen in a nice sealed cannister– and that's about it!
I like that I can change up my regular late morning cup of coffee with this whipped topping.
Make It!
To make this Whipped Coffee, you will use instant coffee granules– any brand. You will be adding two teaspoons sweetener, hot water, and whole milk.
Important Note: Be sure to use whole instead of non-dairy or skim milks, as your results will differ quite a bit. I haven't tried this with milk alternatives so can't vouch for it, but if you do, please let us know on Facebook or in the comments so we can add a note! 🙂
The first step is to whip your milk. If you don't have an actual milk frother, that's totally fine! Just pour it in your stand mixer or into a bowl and blend with a handheld blender until the milk is frothy. About 1-2 minutes. Be sure to use the whisk attachment! 🙂
Last Step to Making Delicious Whipped Coffee:
After the milk is frothy, this coffee really comes together quickly. Set aside your milk and Just add your prepared instant coffee and sweetener (dissolved in water) into the mixer. You will froth the actual coffee mixture for about 5 minutes, or until stiff peaks form.
At that point, add your frothed coffee to your frothed milk!
Be gentle with your mixture, either using a spatula or a long, flat spoon. Do not whisk any more at this stage. Slowly incorporate the coffee into the frothed milk, being careful not to flatten the milk too much.
That's it! After your frothed milk and coffee are mixed, pour over a cup or mug of milk and stir slightly.
Imporatant Notes About Whipped Coffee:
This treat is meant for a big cup or mug of coffee, so be generous with that delicious topping! If you're sensitive to caffeine, try using a decaf Instant Coffee blend. This recipe calls for a large amount of coffee granules, so you can divide into more servings or use decaf if needed.
Enjoy this with a big straw as pictured or with a stirring spoon.
The instant coffee granules should be strong enough to mix with a cup of milk and give you and overall strong coffee result! No need to add over more coffee. 🙂
