Sprite Fresh Fruit Slushie- How to Make a Slushie at Home
Have you wondered how to make a slushie at home? You don't need to pay for an expensive slushie full of sugar and other ingredients. See how to make this Sprite Fresh Fruit Slushie!

Sprite Fresh Fruit Slushie
If you haven't enjoyed a fresh slushie in the summer time before now, you're missing out! These vary in name and ingredients by region, but in general a slushie is fruit, a fizzy beverage, and ice all blended together.
A slushie differs from a traditional smoothie since most smoothies contain some sort of dairy. I like to add yogurt, Greek Yogurt, or even almond milk to my smoothies.
Slushies aren't quite as heavy, and they are perfect for when the weather is HOT!! Although you can make a Sonic or gas station run and order your favorite Slushie there, find out how to make a slushie at home with just a few simple ingredients. Great for a hot afternoon in the garden or working around the house!

First, you will need a blender or single serve blender such as a Bullet. I have a Ninja blender and it has it's own blender attachment and single serve blenders. It's a nice setup and really works for blending whatever I need it to. However any blender should work.
Just add your ice, Sprite, and fruit to your blender and mix!
I mention in the recipe to add ice first. This is because the Sprite will fizz up a lot if you add it first, and you don't want to lose all your carbonation before you blend the drink. It will lose some anyway after it's mixed.

After you blend, be sure to add to a cold glass and enjoy with a straw. You can add optional toppings and even add a candy straw or gummy bears for the kids.
For a lower sugar option, you can add Sprite Zero or even a flavored Sparkling Water. I prefer the Bubly brand and just about any flavor compliments the berries! Try out a few and see which one you prefer.
If you follow the instructions to this one exactly, my husband said it tasted like Sonic's Fresh Fruit Lime-aid. Those are his favorite! Whether you're heading to the pool or to work on the lawn and garden, this beverage is such a treat for summer.
