I saved $3948.89 in 2010 – How much did you save??
Taking into consideration I was a family of 1 for the better part of 2010 I think saving $3948.89 was pretty good. That's an average savings of about $329.00 per month on groceries & HBA! Now that I'm living with Melissa (we're a family of 5 with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs) I expect to save a lot more.
I know some of you out there have kept a running total of your savings and we'd like to hear how much you saved in 2010! Here's your chance to brag so let's hear it!
I saved over $1,000 last year just using coupons!
Way to go!
Maybe this year I will keep track – I didnt last year. Like Tammy, I dont think I paid full price for much of anything with maybe a few exceptions like meats (I buy usually at the locker)
Think I will keep track and report back- currently try to clear the freezer, so not alot of buying in the grocery department !
We dont keep track of what we save but I have heard recently of people doing just this and putting that money in savings for vacation fund or to spend on something they might not ever have been able to purchase. We are slacking in using coupons as we should, and as a mom of six…that is nearly considered a sin in some parts. LOL> We do NOT ever pay full price for gift items and shop store specials at our local grocer, (planning our meals around the specials) usually when getting home we look at the PERCENT we save….is usually 15-20% on just groceries.
I just started getting into coupons in April last year but I was very happy that I saved $1800.00 for 2010 for my family of 4. Just starting out and still learning from all the great sites, like yours has helped. I can’t thank you enough for all the good info you post. It gives us hope with the economy the way it is. There are so many things we use on a regular basis that don’t have coupons but I keep watching and checking sites.
