If you need something to include the Easter Story, our FREE printable is just the thing! While the Easter bunny and Easter egg hunts are all for fun, if you are a Sunday School teacher or parent who wants to incorporate the real reason for Easter, this is an easy project.
Just print out this template on either cardstock or heavy printer paper. It should load as a PDF, and there should not be any request for your email or to pay. Sometimes ads and popups will look like the print button- but they aren't! 🙂 So use our link and be sure to print in color.

This is a fun way to also divide up marshmallow PEEPS since they are a lot to add to a smaller child's Easter basket. As we know, kids can make quite a dent in all that candy just on Easter morning! You can add one, two or three marshmallow PEEPS to any small treat bag. I prefer to find treat bags at Walmart, since there is large selection. But you can also find them at the Dollar stores or even Target Dollar Spot if you're there at the right time. Always check seasonal aisles for treat bags too! If you find a pack of treat bags, they should come with the small wire twist ties also. You can attach your printable “Tell your Peeps” tag to each bag, and done!
We love conversation starters for smaller kids for Easter. This is a fun way to be able to talk about Bible Verses with the whole family and also the good news of the Resurrection!

Looking for some christ-centered easter basket ideas for younger kids? Wether it's their first Easter or you just need new ideas. Check out these great options that will help your little ones celebrate the holiday in a fun and meaningful way.
Resurrection eggs activity for preschoolers
Bible stories around Easter can easily get jumbled together. A visual story is perfect to be able to explain the Easter story and resurrection of Christ from God's word. It does take some preparation for this project, so be sure to look over what you need prior to Easter Sunday! It's helps them understand the true story of why we celebrate Easter. You won't need your normal craft supplies to make this one. All you need is plastic eggs and the fillers, which include:
- Pretzel Sticks
- Round Cracker like Ritz Bitz, oyster crackers or Mini Vanilla Wafers
- Mini Marshmallows
- Purple Jelly Beans
- M&Ms or other small candy to snack on
- Goldfish Crackers
Each one of these items represents something related to the true meaning of Easter! Keep in mind it's designed for young children rather than school ages– so older children may be bored with this idea. This one is also a great idea for smaller kids who cannot have all that candy– we've all been there! It seems they decide food is a no-go for the day, and the candy can be a little overwhelming. Our Plastic Easter Eggs project includes jelly beans but also snacks like Goldfish Crackers and pretzels! Plus they are so much fun to make.

- If they need a new beginner’s bible the Jesus Storybook Bible makes a cute gift. This is a great way for children to learn about God’s word and how Jesus loves unconditionally.

Kid's Easter Basket Ideas for Tweens and Teens:
As the kids get older you may question whether Easter candy is really necessary. If you're a parent you want to make sure older kids feel included. As a mom I always loved to make up an Easter basket gift each year– it's not something we like to let go of easily!! However, it's also important to recognize older kids may feel awkward about receiving an Easter basket of stuff for a younger age group. Chances are they would rather have something they could use. Here are some easy solutions for Easter basket ideas for older kids:
Create a Cheerful Gift Basket:
- If they need a new Bible or Bible cover, now is a great time to gift one to them!
- Consider a journaling Bible or prayer journal- this one is always a win for us!
- Art supplies, especially if they like to take notes for memory verses, etc.
- A cross necklace (you can find these for either gender, or gender neutral).
- Write them a note- If you feel comfortable with this idea, include a short but positive note wishing them a Happy Easter and letting you know how much you appreciate them. Some idea starters are recognizing a recent accomplishment at school or in sports, or something they are doing to help around the house. Keep it cheerful. Who knows, this may even be something you can repeat for other holidays!
Add some fun items teens can use:
- Sticker book– puffy stickers are fun to add to water bottles, notebooks and more!
- Scrunchies or hair ties
- Chocolate crosses or a chocolate bunnies- even if there isn't a full “basket”, these are fun to surprise older kids with on Easter morning!
- A Starbucks gift card
- Theater Candy boxes– I like to add one or two and that's it!
- Chips and beef jerky— teen guys especially are always hungry. Non-sugar snacks are perfect to add to any gift basket.
- Chewing gum
- Altoids or other breath mints
- Spring Tumbler— you can find these at the Target Dollar Spot, Dollar Tree, Five Below and more.
