Seasonal Checklist: The Complete Car Care Guide for Families
If your family buys a car, you may take turns using it. You’ll also need to take good care of it. That involves the upkeep that every responsible driver should know about. For this reason, consider the Seasonal Checklist: The Complete Car Care Guide for Families as your essential maintenance reference.
You can head to Axio Automotive if you’re in the market for a new vehicle. Before you make the cash commitment to one, though, you should be aware of the seasonal checklist for car maintenance you need to adhere to.

Check the Tire Pressure One Per Month
There are some checks to your car that you will make according to what season it is. Others must be done at any time of the year.
To start with, you will need to check your car’s tire pressure. You should do so once a month, at a minimum. If you find that any of the tires are getting low, fill them up to the proper PSI. This makes a blowout much less likely.
Top Off Your Fluid
You should top off your fluid levels once per month as well. They might not need a top up that frequently, but you should still have it on your calendar to do this. Don’t forget about any of the vehicle’s fluids, including the brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, engine oil, and transmission fluid.
Put on Your Winter Tires in the Late Fall
In the late fall, you will want to put on your winter tires. You can either keep them in your garage or ask an auto body shape to keep and store them for you.
The first method will not cost as much, but you might find it a pain to have to switch out your tires on your own. The second method will cost you money, but you won’t have to switch out and store your tires yourself. In the spring, you can switch out the tires again.
Wash the Car When the Spring Comes
You should wash your car regularly. Doing so will prevent damage to the paint and the undercarriage. During the winter, though, washing the vehicle regularly becomes even more crucial.
On the first nice day, take the vehicle through a car wash or wash it yourself using the right kind of soap. Doing so gets rid of all the salt that accumulated during the winter months.
You will also want to wax your car when winter concludes. It’s a step far too many car owners neglect.

Check Your Hoses and Belts
When the winter concludes, you will also want to look over the vehicle’s hoses and belts. If you’re not sure how to do that or what to look for, watch some YouTube videos on the subject.
You’re looking for damage, cracks, or wear. If you see anything like that, you will need to replace the damaged part.
Make Sure Your Windshield Wipers Are Working
You should also check year-round to see that your windshield wipers are working. They tend to wear out occasionally, and you should be ready to switch them out if that happens.
