Today we have a new DIY: You can Make Your Own Streak Free Glass Cleaner with just a few low cost products, many of which you probably have around the house already.
If you follow the blog closely, you may have noticed we are including a few new all natural DIY recipes for your home! We hope this can help you save money in the long run, since cleaners can be expensive and in many instances, we don't have many deals or coupons for them. This DIY does involve a small investment for supplies, if you don't have them already on hand.
See this recipe below to get that spring cleaning done with an all natural cleaner.
Make Your Own Steak Free Glass Cleaner!
If you haven't explored essential oils, you can find out more here and purchase the two pictured above. For this recipe you will need pure Orange and Lemon essential oils.
You can find these from Young Living, if you don't have any of your own already! The other three ingredients pictured are cornstarch, vinegar, and rubbing alcohol (available at any drug store).
Any time you are working with these pure essential oils, you need to be cautious of a few things. One, make sure your hands and skin are not coming into contact with the oils or the mixture, since they are absorbed through skin. If you are using Young Living Essential Oils then you don't have to worry about that because they are pure and completely safe.
Secondly, the oils are so strong that you will need a glass bottle or storage container for your new mix. A plastic bottle can actually be eaten away over time by the oils! Not to mention the chemicals from the plastic will then leach into your mixture. As you can see we aren't even using a plastic funnel. You can find these great metal funnels here.
And of course a safety note — It's always a good idea to keep your cleaners out of reach of children, and it's always a good idea to make your own cleaners in a well ventilated area. Luckily with this mixture being all natural I don't have to worry about that but we have to mention it because well you know….. it's the internet lol.
This cleaner comes together pretty quick as long as you have all the ingredients ready to go. Be sure to give it a good shake before using, and use gloves if you are concerned with the ingredients getting on your skin (as with any cleaner). But if you are using Young Living Pure Essential Oils you don't have to worry about that because they are safe.
Then, enjoy the non-chemical scent of this fresh citrus cleaner for your spring cleaning!
