I love making my own dog treats for several reasons. I know what ingredients are added, and the fact they are so economical compared to store bought soft treats. Those refrigerated all natural treats can be pricey.
This recipe also uses ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen, especially if you've been making pumpkin goodies for the whole family lately like I have!
I mix up the ingredients using a Magic Bullet. If you don't have a smaller blender you can always just use a food processor or blender. I have many recipes that use a food processor, and always recommend the Ninja food processor since it's what I have and it works great.
After your dog treats are blended well, scoop in 1 tablespoon bite sized spoon-fulls and put into an oven safe silicone mold. You can also use spoonfuls on a lined cookie tray but your results may vary a bit.
Don't these pumpkin dog treats look yummy? I just love that they are healthy for our fur babies and full of vitamins. Even better, dogs aren't picky and you can always use soft bananas that would have been thrown out otherwise. Of course, use all food safety rules for pet treats as you would for your own food!
I store these in an air tight container. You can freeze and take a few out at a time if you know your pet will go through these slowly. For smaller breeds or those with sensitive stomachs, take extra care to introduce new treats slowly.

- 1/2 can Pure Pumpkin
- 1 cup oats
- 1 banana
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350
- Blend all ingredients together. (I use a magic bullet)
- Pour mix into silicone mold.
- Bake 12-15 minutes
