Pumpkin Patch Trail Mix –  A Great Fall Snack

Halloween is just around the corner, so you may be thinking of whipping up a few treats in the coming weeks! I was excited to share this Pumpkin Patch Trail Mix.

Honestly this is one recipe you may find yourself throwing together again and again, mainly since it uses anything you have in the pantry!

It uses the Autumn candies and cereal flavors we can find in store right now, but has a few salty ingredients to balance out all that sugar.

The salty ingredients used here are:

  • Peanuts
  • Bugels
  •

But Beware!  You will find this one hard to stay away from.

Pumpkin Patch Trail Mix

I really like trail mixes because they are just so versatile.  You may remember seeing a few lately on the blog! But this one is all snacks and sweets, so it's perfect for the fall when we are gearing up for the holidays.

I sometimes just use what I have in the pantry, but happened to be making a store run and thought the Cinnamon Life and Pumpkin Spice Cheerios would really hit the spot in this trail mix.

Add Nuts or Not

I did get the Brach's Candy Corn Autumn Mix, since it has a variety of candies inside.  If you have kiddos, these mixes are popular since they can pick their favorites! Yes, I've been known to try to get a handful with more of my favorite pieces in there too.

I added peanuts but you can substitute other nuts or pretzels to your liking or if you have an allergy, of course.  Since so many schools and kids' church classes are going peanut free, I would probably choose to leave out the nuts if I was providing the snack mix for that crowd.

I love peanuts and they are a great protein, so I always add them for us at home. But again you could easily witch out the nuts for pretzels.

Fall Trail Mix

Another thing I love about this Pumpkin Patch Trail Mix is that it's so pretty! Package in a mason jar and share with a teacher, neighbor or friend just to say Happy Fall!  It's sure to brighten their day.
