Recipe: Overnight French Toast Bake

I absolutely LOVE french toast in the morning but it is something we rarely eat because it just seems like too much of a hassle sometimes.  But  this French Toast Bake is one of those things you can make ahead and not have to worry about in the morning, just wake up early enough to pop it into the oven!

This recipe is ideal for back-to-school days, since it's an easy-clean meal that can be done ahead of time.  The top of this bake gets nice and crispy and the bottom is softer like the inside of a typical french toast.

Topped with a bit of maple syrup and this Overnight French Toast Bake is morning perfection!  You can also add sausage patties, especially these heat and serve ones here.  Or various fruit like strawberries, blueberries or banana slices.  This is pictured in a medium sized casserole dish.

This recipe serves 4-6 people but if you need it for a larger crowd simply double the ingredients and put it all in a 9×13 baking pan.  It works just as great that way, too!
