Does it really matter if it is organic?

Right now there is a HUGE buzz about buying organic foods…..does it really matter if all of your foods are organic? Which foods is it important to have organic and which foods does it not really matter? Where should you really spend your money on organic foods?

These are foods you should purchase organic if at all possible since they absorb large amounts of pesticides when they are not organic:

  • Lettuce
  • Grapes
  • Potatoes
  • Cherries
  • Spinach
  • Sweet Bell Peppers
  • Kale
  • Nectarines
  • Peaches
  • Blueberries
  • Collard Greens
  • Apples
  • Celery
  • Strawberries
  • Peaches
  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots

The foods that do not absorb large amounts of pesticides are:

  • Onions
  • Sweet onions
  • Avocados
  • Sweet Corn
  • Kiwi
  • Mango
  • Sweet Peas
  • Asparagus
  • Cantaloupe
  • Cabbage
  • Eggplant
  • Grapefruit
  • Watermelon
  • Sweet Potatoes
